I’ve seen quite a few Korean woman - African man couples on this show and (not to put the others down) I feel like she was the first wife to truly embrace and love her husbands culture as much as she loves her own. Also, literally the cutest, fluffiest baby I’ve ever seen.

I know right? Women like Eunjung will be the one to really break stereotypes in Korea, she travels and actually visits other countries. I know a lot of people may not necessarily have the means like Eunjung, but at least she is trying to broaden her horizons and is not riddled with ignorance. Eunjung took the time to learn actually learn about Daniel's culture in Africa being of Beninese descent and other African cultures.

Koa Jinja Korean women like Eunjung don’t even constitute a sizeable minority in the country, the kind of people who are independent thinkers and believe that ART isn’t just entirely K-drama or K-Pop or anything K related. She’s charismatic, considerate and bold. I should stop admiring her lol 😂

We also need to be more accepting. I have no doubt somebody got upset at the fact Eunjung had braided hair or at the Korean's wearing traditional African clothing (I'll assume it was from Benin). We let this idea of cultural appropriation stop us from accepting foreigners into our cultures and demonises those that do.

She is truly the FIRST Korean woman I’ve seen that has truly embraced her significant other’s culture completely. (No hate to any of the other Korean mixed raced couples) but their love is just so pure, the way she got up and brushed off her shoulders and was like “I got this, lemme show y’all how to dance.” Such a pure moment! I hope that anyone that marries outside their race can truly embrace their significant other’s culture as well as she did, or at least learn the best that they can! ❤️

It's sad that in 2018/2019 people still refer to Africa as a country. It literally isn't hard to check on a mobile device or laptop whatever gadget you may have and search up Africa on the world map and find that it's a continent with 54 countries within it's borders. It literally takes 5 seconds. Korean national Sam Okyere who is of Ghanaian descent literally had a slight issue about this on a Korean program he was on last year because singer Kangnam wasn't aware of what was in Africa, he only went by what he heard about the continent in media about it being a poor country natives living in villages, huts etc basically all the stereotypes about Africa. Sam had to correct him and he told Kangnam while there are many places in Africa that are not very well off there also a lot to appreciate about the continent, lots of greenery, beautiful scenery, entertainment and nightlife. Sam offered and actually took Kangnam to Ghana his home country and showed him what it is lioke there, because he didn't want to just tell him what Ghana had to offer, he actually paid for tickets and took Kangnam as well as a whole Korean camera crew and a few other Korean celebs and went to Ghana. After the experience, Kangnam went back to Korea with a whole new outlook about what it is truly like in Africa and that it is not all true the negative stuff he saw or heard in the media.

@mk I really don't think it matters what it is, it doesn't make it any better. I was raised by open-minded people, each coming from close-minded cultures that 'seek self-preservation' and think marrying outside your culture is betrayal. They got married regardless of their different cultural backgrounds, my grandparents didn't make a huge fuss, and both my parents and their parents don't care what ethnicity my husband will have. Being closed-minded is a choice, not an obligation. It's time people make the right choice. We're in a globalized millenium.

Their love and energy transcends culture, and even through the screen. Didn't even realise I was having so much fun watching this couple until I started to laugh out loud. We've seen so many different couples through the years of My Neighbour, Charles. From exhausted wives, to neglectful husbands, to thoughtful boyfriends, to entitled wives. Eunjung is such a great example of a loving, thoughtful, humorous partner who has completely embraced Daniel's identity and culture. And for Daniel to come halfway across the world, to a place where he knows he will be judged based on his ethnicity and skin colour, not knowing the language, not knowing what to expect, with only the love of his wife and child in his heart.. what an amazing man. I wish them all the best! And Michael... the calmest baby I've seen.

Wow, I teared up a few times during this! It’s so beautiful to see the union of two cultures that so different yet so similar. Seeing them both putting in equal effort to embrace and understand the other’s culture is so heart-warming. I really appreciate the wife understanding the difficulties her husband has to go through and her willingness to fight against those prejudices alongside him. There are way too many cases of interracial couples where the more privileged significant other is complacent in the face of their partner’s oppression, so seeing this couple was very refreshing and gives me hope for the future.

Are we all ignore the fact how amazing his mother in-law is ? I cry when he is so loved by her. And people need to stop slamming on how Korean parents are racists. Like any other parents, people need time to evolve. Kindness goes a long way. And what a beautiful wedding they had.

I love west African dance but east, north and South African dances are very different. They keep generalising the whole continent but it’s not the same! If you watch South African and rwandanese dances and Ethiopian dances you’ll see there are many differences in instruments, dance style and fashion. I don’t have anything against this show except this. It’s just soo frustrating coming from an East African. What’s the point of me even saying this they never learn 🙄🙄

I'm here for Rwandan..ese! Jokes aside I do agree! People think that black means African means one culture. White people always say to me "I know someone from your country, he's from your country" etc 😂😂 when I ask them how they know which country I'm from they say "Africa" 😂😂

I am more proud of her mother. It must have been harder for her to accept Daniel due to his race especially because of long generations of discriminating beliefs towards different races particularly black folks. I’m not going to lie, my parents are extremely racist but they have been taught that for years and years from their society. My mother is way worse though. I can’t stand it but I just pity her hate. God bless this family. I hope one day I can have a strong family just like them! I’m so so very proud!

Omg, I'm a French speaker so I was surprised when they spoke in French😮Eunjung reminds me my own mother. Confident, not scared of differents people, differents cultures, don't judge quickly for their skins color. Even my Japanese grandfather who was from the old generation and was distant with foreigners treated me like a normal person. I feel comfortable with being Danish but culturally, I'm more Japanese and African from my dad.
