To be a doctor in South Korea, you need to speak fluent Korean, and you have to pass the national medical exam which is very hard to pass even for native speakers. After all, doctors need to communicate with their patients, and if you don't speak Korean, then it's pretty hard to become a doctor in Korea.

I love that the wife is very cool about having black husband in Korea. I understand that it must be hard sometimes in the (used to be) monocultural and racist country like Korea, and they mentioned it a bit.
