Thank you for sharing all this with such honesty and integrity. It truly does help people like myself understand what is possible as an artist, and having that perspective inspires others not only to follow their dreams, but also to understand the importance of financial education. Much love, brother! 🙌🏻

Love the transparency, it really does help to know what the cost, and actual numbers look like. Its been kinda rare to have this kind of talk with the other local photographers & videographers (Mostly because my network isn't where it needs to be yet) . I sincerely appreciate this as someone who has been a part time freelancer for five years and trying to transition into a full time career with a camera. Thank you

Hey Eric, fellow runner and dad of 4 here! I got introduced to you through your running content and discovered this channel shortly after! This is a really nice breakdown! Do you see yourself keeping the rental condo long-term? From my experience it seems like the taxes can come back to bite when selling (accounting for capital gains and depreciation recapture, yuck). You mentioned wanting to invest in a short-term rental down the road, so maybe sell the condo and do a 1031 exchange to buy the new property and avoid some taxes? We are in a similar situation on our end, so these are the type of questions/ideas my wife and I are kicking around.

love these personal finance update videos. perhaps you may not want to get into this since its not your focus at all for this content but would also be super curious to know what your annual expenses/spend is for a big family living in chicago. curious if you're a high spender since it just takes that much $ to support a bigger fam in general, or are you pretty frugal? a breakdown would be super cool like housing/groceries/childcare/travel/entertainment etc...! just a thought or if you want to address it would be super cool to hear how you're making it all work with your income and current (growing) net worth. i realize this may not be your lane to get to personal financey on the matter though. kudos to you man. 15k/month take home is really amazing. to be making 180k net for you and your fam. obviously covering all your annual expenses and having money leftover for fun and investments. you said you plan to work for 25-30 more years - no desire to try and retire early it sounds like? i respect that. im not an entreprenuer so i just want to get out of the rat race myself early haha (hoping in my 40s)

Love this! So much noise on socials making it seem that making millions every month is what everyone should be doing. Nice to see it stripped back, and show that you can live a great life as an entrepreneur, with a thriving business, multiple properties, and diverse investments on the side, without needing millions to do it

Always appreciate these updates and your humility around them. Thank you for sharing! On the YT income segment: I’d love to hear more about how you project (dream?) for steady growth on those fronts. I’d love to take this platform seriously as a side revenue stream one day but it’s daunting to consider lining things up for regular income. Probably a bit off the topic here but any additional thoughts in that category would likely help a lot of us get unstuck. ‘Preciate you, sir.

How do you balance your money when you want to buy something? I mean... how do you decide if something is really worth it?
@EricFloberg5 ай бұрын
For business, I can justify it if I know it will increase revenue or save me time. Personally, we have to always balance if it will improve our lives/others' lives or give us/others joy & memories. Otherwise, if it doesn't help on improving or bringing joy/memories, I have a hard time making the purchase.

These are really cool videos that I wish more people did. Money shouldn't be a weird thing people can't talk about. Understanding how money works and having benchmarks and transparency goes a long way in helping people along the way in their own journeys. The m6 through the video may have been a bit much though LOL jk

Really appreciate you saying this. Every year I feel more and more uncomfortable with it, but I know that I have benefited so much from videos like this, so I want to do the same for others. I also think that transparency in finance is so beneficial for everyone.

@@EricFloberg I haven't seen all the others so maybe you covered it there, but a companion video on how you chunked out money for all of these goals could be could for people. Idk if it needs to be a main channel thing or anything, but just spit balling ideas. This stuff is helpful but I know when I started my own financial journey seeing this stuff got me interested, but I was super overwhelmed by seeing some stuff like this. It can be helpful to chunk it down into understandable stepping stones. All with the caveat of "This is not financial advice" of course haha.

What a weird topic for a video. I understand this is supposed to support people following their creative endeavours but results may vary and the economy we live in now is drastically different from what we had pre-Covid. Second, I’m not your bank.
@EricFloberg5 ай бұрын
Fair! For what it's worth, I make this video every year as an update, and it started on me watching other people share their incomes, and that fueled me to be where I'm at now. I'm hopeful that it does the same for other people. Totally understand that Covid messed a lot of things up and the amount of inflation has changed so much of everything. I hope you and everyone watching stays motivated and keeps working hard to see their goals to fruition. Thanks for watching!!

I can understand your sentiment, but at least for this channel Eric has been pretty transparent with his finances..he makes a video like this every year to show how it’s grown and to kind of debunk some myths that some people have about entrepreneurship. I find these videos really important and inspiring. It is a hard market sometimes but I appreciate transparency like thsi
@freehypes5 ай бұрын
this isn't a weird video at all. he's an entreprenuer sharing his personal finances to motivate/inspire others and show whats possible. of course results may vary, everyone is unique. it just shows the art of the possible which is very cool and insightful. your comment is what's a bit weird tbh lol
