Since your video pertains to a 22-250, but you mentioned a 243 at one point, I can tell you that you made the right decision with a 22-250. Owning a total of four in my lifetime and I can tell you that It's a killing machine. For me personally, I've never seen a caliber that's done so much damage from one animal to the next than a 22-250.

Badass build my man. Copper Creek Cartridge Co. sells 22-250 loaded with 68 BTHP, 70 Berger VLD, and 73 ELD-M, which should all stabilize in that 1-9 twist.

Just rebuilt my 22-250, running a 26 inch 1:7 twist barrel. If you handload that'll open up your options, if you don't see if Speer loads their GoldDot bullet in it, they load it for the 223, it's a 60 grain bullet should work good on both Yotes and pigs

Fantastic looking rig man! Just ordered my own 250 to build/customize and you gave me lots of great ideas so thanks for the great content 🤙 As for your ammo and bullet weight choice, careful on discounting weight of projectile as effectiveness. Yes it does play a role but even more so is bullet construction and what it’s designed for. Your varmint projectiles are designed to fragment shortly after impact and not designed to penetrate heavy hide and bone like on pigs. Look for more densely constructed projectiles (often times in your heavier grain ironically enough) that will penetrate and expand rather than fragment. Good luck and keep slaying’ man!

My wife got bit by a copperhead a couple weeks ago. Happened at night at the base of a big oak. Cicadas were going full tilt that night. Don't go out at night in sandals. Love 22-250, what is the twist? Never mind it was in the description.

That’s a great looking rifle, one of my favorite calibers. I have a Savage Predator 110 chambered in 22-250 with an MDT ORYX stock. It has a 24 inch fluted barrel with a Witt Machine break at the muzzle. I am running 53 grain Hornady Vmax using IMR 4064 powder at about 3780 ft./s. They hit real hard. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos from this platform.

I have the same mag problems in 250. I can only run 6 in the mdt and pmag 10 rounders. I can do 4 in the 5 round pmag. I’ve shot a lot of coyotes with the varmint express. It shoots better than the superformance for me. I’ve been working on hand loads too. 55gr nosler bt shot really well with xbr and they’re supposed to hold together a little better than vmaxes. Right now I have 44gr hammers loaded with cfe223 doing 3950. I have a 12 twist so I can’t go much heavier with copper. Coyotes have been slow lately with the crops in so I haven’t been able to try those out on them, but they’ve hammered a few raccoons.

The opening disclaimer about the cicadas 😂😂. Also I have a 22-250 and it loves the PPU 55 grain soft points going 3,500 fps. It’s pretty hard lead and may do good as a cheaper alternative for pigs. Accuracy is 1/2 moa out a cheap axis.

75gr eldm with superformance shoots well out of my 22” 8 twist. Try 60gr Hammer Hunters for an all copper. That’s the heaviest they say will stabilize with 9 twist in their bullets.

Check out Hornady's 22 cal 53 grain v-max. It was designed for the 223 so it could hang with 22/250's. It has an insane BC of .290 and you need a 1:12 twist or faster to stabilize it. That's the way I went for a huge increase in barrel life and efficiency over the 22/250. Sierra #1365 55 grain Gamekings have an excellent reputation for match accuracy and penetration on larger game. I reckon if you tried them they'd soon become your go to bullet.

I love your content and I just had a few questions and suggestions for you. I don't know if you hand load or not. If you do, You were looking for a heavier bullet for hogs. You have a 1-9 twist 22-250. Sierra makes a 64 Grain bullet that is perfect for a 1-9 twist to kill hogs and coyotes. How I know this is because I have an ar10 chambered in 22-250 with a 1-9 twist 22 inch barrel and I run the Sierra 64 Gr. Gamechanger bullet in my hand loads. I'm not leaning on them very hard. I'm pushing them at 3300 fps. They are a devastating round with that twist rate. I live in the Midwest northern tier of states. We don't have hogs here. But when I tell you they release havoc on coyotes out to 500 yards, this ought to tell ya something. The other fact is that right now finding components for 22-250..(Brass) is very challenging. Bullets and primers and powder not so difficult. I love the rifle build. Keep the content coming. Keep sending them to a dirt nap.

Love you videos, you have any advice tips on seeing pigs better with a pvs? I got a 14 gen 3 white all the badass specs.. I should of went thermal I know, will get one soon. I’ve used the IR laser to knock a few down and it is awesome when you can see em, super easy and shot placement was tits.. but I hunt with Guys with thermal and I have to rely on them to find em first which is pretty wack.. might get an MH25 helmet mount so I have dual or just get a scoped thermal..thanks!

No advice will help you detect, that’s where thermal is king! NV is an awesome tool but it sucks when it comes to killing….
