Actually, it does work. I have this and I have the Phoenix and it works perfectly. Sometimes you gotta unplug it and plug it back in and make sure the applications open and it should work perfectly.

I think the problem in this case was that Swiss didn't restart the sim after downloading a profile. Could be wrong tho.

Honestly I'm thrilled for that thing! if there is a possibility to also use it with other aircraft that would be amazing...obviously not realistic but the QNH and HDG are a pain in the A.... with the mouse

I have a cunning plan to add rotary encoders to my throttle quadrant. I don't use the little toggle buttons on it, so I'm going to have a microcontroller read a rotary encoder and pulse the buttons via an optocoupler. Alternatively, I was thinking of just stuffing an ESP8266 into the case, and using UDP to talk to X-Plane over wifi... But I kind of want to keep it as a single USB unit I can use for other software too.

I've heard similar stories about most flight sim displays... Which is why I'm still leaning towards just building my own stuff. Partly also because I'm a Linux X-Plane user, so half these complex panels won't work at all anyway. Whereas if I make my own, I can make it X-Plane specific with my own firmware on the devices.

Good to see they don't use USB B Type printer cable. Thats what broke on my custom yoke as it would constantly wobble and wiggle the connector. In the end the sim no longer saw it without disconnects.
