that dust hood is from a Parks planer, I have one on my Parks planer and I bought the hood directly from Parks back when they were still in business back in the 1980s. when I bought my planer in 1979 I had been looking for one of those Powermatics but had to make a move and got the Parks that became available instead. They are both great machines but I think I would still prefer the Powermatic. good video!

Yep, good score. Everyone I know who used one swears by them. It's a very nice simplified version of the old Yates American thickness planers in terms of design and layout. Does it have anti kickback Pawls in front of the infeed roller ? If not, never ever feed more than one piece at a time. The early Wadkin BAO planers had that same dangerous lack of safety feature. I never ever stand directly behind the piece I'm feeding anyway, just in case. Great video, congrats on finding a great machine.

Awesome job, good to see older equipment bought back to life. I recently scored a heap of turning stuff, including what looks to be some old planner blades, no clue what they are out of, but I'm looking at using them to make some turning tools, like your idea of the ring cutting tool, a tenon tool, and maybe a couple of beading tools. I'm guessing the steel for the blades will be good though.

How much you get it for?

I think that is a 1978 not a 68. The 68 would have had the oval badge and been painted sage green not emerald green.

Well I was going by the serial number so I can't say your wrong but the SN indicates 1968.
