I'm super excited to announce a totally free way that anyone can support the channel!! I was approved for an Amazon Influencer account which allows KZbinrs like myself, and other creators to earn a small commission from sales generated from people first clicking on my Amazon link, and then buying anything from Amazon. This doesn't cost you a penny as Amazon compensates the creators for driving traffic and sales to the site. So even if you don't buy the product or tool that I link in the video description box, you are still supporting the channel by shopping on Amazon after you clicked through any of my links. Each video will have either specific links to things I use or talk about in the video, or you will see my general LegitStreetCars Amazon link like this. www.amazon.com/shop/legitstre...

I use Oil Eater in my parts washer as well. It works phenomenal on oil, but the one caveat I've found is that it doesn't work quite as well on caked-on grime. What I end up doing is spraying grungy parts about 5 minutes beforehand with some strong degreaser, and then I pop them in the washer and finish cleaning them up. Seriously though, Oil Eater works wonders when you have to clean something like the engine block in-situ after fixing a huge oil leak, everything comes out bone dry.

Thanks for posting this. Im currently replacing a set of head gaskets on my truck, and this would be perfect to clean most of my old engine parts up while I have it off. At least I know this is relatively cheap, which is good for me.

Yup,same exact one. Although I will say that diffeee the not companies that have this at a higher price point will many times pay more for the manufacture to do better QC. So for example, the harbor freight one is the same but the tolerances and fit and finish might not be as good. That being said, I’m buying the harbor freight one.

Alex, What is the best solvent for modern euro diesel engine intake manifolds? I cleaned mine by hand with a revolving sequence of diesel, oil & grease spray, brake clean & detergent. Alternately scrubbing & soaking. Couldn't stop thinking that simply leaving it in a parts washer for a few days would have been so much easier & more effective.
@LegitStreetCars
@LegitStreetCars 6 жыл бұрын
For metal intakes, I think soaking in something like diesel is ok. For plastic, however, you need to use something more gentle like the oil eater. I wouldn't let it soak if it's plastic. Some diesel intakes can get very caked up so scrubbing is sometimes inevitable.

Neato! it looks very similar to a Safety Kleen unit, what kind of solvents can you use? For something really nasty I guess you can have a separate little tub full of diesel and let its soak the whole week! 😃🚙🚗

Discount Ramps is the shit, I have bought from them before and their customer service is great. I ordered some motorcycle stands, one was missing some steering head adapters and they mailed those to me right away. I had a similar parts washer, really handy tool to own if you have real use for it and the space. Thanks for the advice on what to use as the cleaning solution, I had diesel in mine, the one at work had mineral spirit(the best).

Geez that filter was falling apart ! also why are your parts sitting in the fluid ? My workshop cleaner is dry with a 75litre drum under it ! the degreaser gets pumped up to the part then when your finished you can switch it off and just let the parts drip dry , not good this be as well with a bucket and brush ffs

Only if quality is comparable. DeWalt, Bosch, and Milwaukee are all about equal but I buy DeWalt because their tools match what I already have. I think the only tools I wouldn't buy because of their color is Ryobi, because I think that shade of green is just annoying.

I'm sorry but this is garbage because you're recommending this Parts washer but the only difference between it and the one at Harbor Freight is it's black and you have to order it instead of buy at store but when you order it you speak to somebody in the United States great. But it at Harbor Freight it's like 50 bucks. No don't get me wrong I hate Harbor Freight but the parts washer you have is made in the very same Factory in China that makes the one for Harbor Freight and you're trying to pretend like it's something radically different know it's the same damn thing except for its painted black. I lose respect for people who try to pawn crap off onto others. And no I have never seen a professional shop use one of these parts washers. The information you said about Oil Eater is good and you compared it to Diesel and kerosene and I appreciate that Honesty but it takes me off that you're trying to to do some stupid sales pitch. I don't have respect for your channel and I'm not subscribed to it anymore.
