Sometimes I wonder if we need to see certain scenes. Did Brad really need to set up a GoPro to vlog a 60 meter drive from one barn to the other, for example.
@OldManRoo2 жыл бұрын
It looks fabulous! Could you use one of the bendpak stackers to allow you to lift cars to the height of the Schmuseum extension shed to move them between facilities? You can use it a normal stacker when not moving cars back and forth, so you wouldn't lose as much useful footprint in the main showroom.

Or they just drive around the barn for 10 seconds instead of having to install another autostacker and a giant door for 20.000 quid

Expanding Foam is great. Many uses. Even to send a "present" to one of your friend that you owe.... get a solidly strong box. Put confetti in a bag where the bag is open and taped to the top. about 2-3 inches works great. Then a 2x block of wood.2x12 cut down works nicely. Nerf round ball. 2x block #2. Then 2x block #3, with a hole in it and the bottom of the box. Make sure the box it taped up solidly. You then use the Expanding Foam to fill the area between block #2 and block #3. It will compress the nerf ball. Write stuff like "Fragile" and "This end up" . Put on a return address of someone other than yourself and send it off to a friend. :) Happy day when they ask you for help getting even with the named person on the box. Many many uses for that Expanding Foam that you bought.

For me, the Shmuseum channel is far more interesting then the regular shmee. Don't take that as a negative though but I enjoy watching the stuff that happens behind the scenes of the road trips and car testing etc more. Some floor mounted angles for the rear wheels of the lower cars would save having to judge the gap to open each door. These would have to be set vehicle specific but would make life much easier when reversing.

I don't know if I ever mentioned it before but the halo space needs its own lighting, and maybe one of those fancy platforms you were looking at buying some time ago. Something that makes it look like a halo space and not a dark leftover space. But man is the barn starting to look great. The vision is starting to shape up, it's amazing to see. A tip for the closing of windows after parking bit: many cars will close all windows automatically if when you lock them on the remote you keep the button pressed down. At least BMW has done this since the 80's their later cabrios even close their roofs. But not all have that function programmed in.
@bpaul1201awesome2 жыл бұрын
Probably agood time to buy some wheel dollies to move the cars around a bit easier then having to turned them on and fill the space with exhaust fumes. Love the lineup of the 7 stackers! Im sure there will be more of them in the future as the number of cars grows.

For the second 'Barn' you should've done a Topaz style lift.. cut a door far from Barn 1 into Barn 2 but with a lift on the floor that can lift the cars up the 70cm instead of using a ramp?

random little idea, but I think it’d be really cool if you were able to fit some sort of LED strips to the undersides of the lifts, so that when there’s a car underneath, the LED strips can be set to the same/a similar colour to the car, to create some kind of ambient lighting shining down onto the car below

If you can not make a ramp between place 1 and place 2, a on demand tinted glass wall would make the place looks like 1 unit with opportunity to look at the collection when working on cars, potentially separate the 2 units when not needed, etc

You know ... when you do break thru that wall ... a 70cm high halo parking spot would make a pretty fancy stage. thinking a car parked on the edge would almost look like it's hung on the wall from the lower floor, but you can just drive it out and around...

If there ever was a real desire to drive the cars through both, a little lift/car elevator might be worth. Also would look amazing with a glass wall between the two/with a glass garage door just to open for activities(and a MENTAL full view from the mezzanine). Love how INSANE the garages have been turning out. Cant wait to see where its at in a few month and then when its in a version 1 final stage :D

Not for access for the cars as you've already mentioned but having bi-folding glass doors with permanent glass panels either side as the 'dividing wall' between the two spaces would look incredible. Option to have the spaces open or closed plus divided or not would give so much depth to how the space is used. Also FYI, knowing the real cars are a dram away for me. I can't help but be so envious of the Lego set up! Don't buy any more for a month or two and let me catch up! Can't wait for the next month or two! Morgan, Emira and Zenvo plus perhaps a mini 👀 incredible stuff to come!!

There is a company called Big Ass fans that makes massive ceiling mounted fans that are used in many high end service departments where I live - eg Tesla and Ferrari etc. This would help you in summer but also in winter to circulate warm air from space heaters etc. It will also by circulating air (even on a very slow speed) help to prevent condensation and possible rust. May be worth contacting them to see if they can sponsor a couple of fans. This would also circulate air from any dehumidifiers or A/C units that you install.I have zero connection with them other than being a paying customer for the domestic versions, and they are extremely reliable and well made per my own experience.

Put a 4 post on the other side of the wall. You can drive the car on the 4 post and then raise it up to get into the car storage area, and then do those steps in revers to get down to the shmuseum. That would be sweet
