all my docs except my jadons are all secondhand, over quarantine i feel like I’ve become a secondhand doc scavenger 😝 (my first secondhand pair was the classic oxfords that were in very gently used condition off a girl on depop for only $25!) i bought a vintage pair of doc mary janes on ebay that were in good condition last week for only $30 but a very unfortunate brown color, so i bought some leather dye and dyed + sealed them black and they turned out great 😃 (ppl were selling the black editions for like 3x the price of the brown!) i also found another doc martens made in england mary jane that was a t-strap style that just had some scuffs and needed the elastic of the buckle replace and a simple google how to search and they’re looking good as new for only $25 I feel like eBay is a god send for docs but depop is great too❤️

I wear a uk3/us5 in docs and its usually still too big so I always buy the insoles from dr marten to put inside >>> and they def help! (they sell it by your shoe size so they fit perfect! I bought a pair of decently new docs off poshmark for $30 xD I was so shocked and thrilled!

1st pair - Jadon Brand-new 2nd pair - secondhand 1490 mie 3rd pair - secondhand 1460 To think that I finally dare to have lots of pairs. I love all of my 3 pairs but my jadon is my top 1 out of 3. Yes, jadon are heavy - no blisters when I break in for a week at home before testing them outside and then hello blisters 🤣🤣 I have 2 regular soles. Beautiful pairs. I’m happy to have. But. I feel empty walking them around because it’s too light for my feet. They are comfortable yet felt like I’m walking with paper boots all day. No matter what, I still love them😍

Btw, if you're in the UK and you really want to not buy secondhand Dr Martens, there's a shop in Ashford where they sell lots of end-of-run Docs and I managed to get a display pair of Jadons for £80 instead of £160.

@@lydiac9758 they sell authentic doc martens for really cheap at Nordstrom rack! I would really recommend checking it out..... although they might not always have the ideal color they always change in their selection!

I used to use Mercari to buy and sell and really liked it, but I haven't shopped online in a while so I don't know if it's changed since I last used it. Granted I'm in the US, not Australia, but I've used Mercari instead of Depop. I've gotten plenty of things off of it but the docs I bought off this site were in great condition. Happy I found them for $60, which I used my sales profit to purchase them without having to dip into my bank account, so super plus. BUT... They are the freaking Worst to break in. The previous owner said she tried for four months off and on to wear them in and had no luck, so she posted them. I bought them and they were so stiff, they felt brand new, like the previous owner never wore them. I've had them for like two years now and I cannot wear them for more than 20 minutes without cutting my feet up. And I know that's how the process works for docs but jeez. Two years of this with little progress? Thinking maybe it's time to let them go 😭

My first pair just came earlier :) I bought it online for $3. It's exactly my size and it's a Black 1460. It's kinda dirty tho and a few scratches, and the top part looks like ur brown ones 😅 but I don't really mind it. It's nice that it's much easier to break in. Can't wait for the cleaning video :))

I just depopped a pair of dr martens agyness deyn 1490 in cherry 🍒🖤 Can’t wait to get them. I have the Bethan’s and I bought them to wear with fun socks 👍🏻 I also recently found a pair of 1461 made in England shoes for my 6 yo son for $20 on Poshmark.

All of my DMs were thrifted ranging from 8$ (400php) to 14$ (700php) here in the Philippines. My brown 1461 with 8$ tag price was bought in a street market. I also got a rare ankle suede boots for only 14$. All of them were made in England. What a great steal!

That was 6 or 7 years ago before the DMs hypewave. Thrift store owners in major cities here already knew the brand and they sell Asian made 2ndhand DMs for 40US$ - 80US$, its pricey if you used to buy thrifted ones for only an 8$. Made in England DMs are also very hard to find now a days. But still, you can dig rare treasures in cheaper prices in thrift stores especially in rural areas here. I really like your channel!

My boyfriend got me white jadons second hand from depop brand new still was in the box I'm obsessed with them I also have a brand new pair from goodwill that I got for $25 they were my first pair of docs and I have a pair of the molly glitter ones my friend got me awhile back she got them from depop and I got a pair of low red oxfords with a zipper super cute got them from depop I got a pair of gladiator pair of sandal lace up docs from platos I've only ever bought 2 pairs of docs not second hand my yellow doc boots and my white and black blaire sandals but I got both pairs extremely discounted I love watching your videos because it reminds me of my obsession

Hey i have a question, i found docs on depop jadon boots and they have a scuff and are barely used but are marked down 60 of retail. are scuffs easy to get off jadon boots? I'm just not sure if this is a good deal or if I should ask for lower.

Im an eu size 40 which is an american size 8.5, and ive been thinking about buying the bethans for some time now. But eu size 40.5 fits me better but a 41 which is an american 9 rarely fits me. What size should i buy? Because they iv never seen them on depop in eu 40 (didnt even search for 40,5, it seems impossible)

I have the voss sandals in a eu 40, it fits nice and a vintage pair w steel toes they look like the classic docs and i have no idea what size they are cause i got them from the thrift store for 10 dollars and the tag is unreadable

Hmm. Are your feet wide or skinny? That is the size feet I have and they are skinny and I got the bethans in an 8 like most my docs. My toes almost touch the end and I find them very wide. I have to buckles them the tightest they go and add an inner sole. I would say go for an 8 but it’s really hard to know.

I got them second hand but sometimes the dr martens website has them. The styles are the Dr Marten Chelsea Quads and the Dr Martens Bethans (those are hard to find but lazy oaf just came out with similar ones)

Do you have the clarissas? If so how do they fit. I get a U.K. 5 in boots so should I go for the same on sandles. I do have wide feet 💖

On Dr Martens website it says all shoes sold in the US have US sizing, and all shoes sold in the UK have UK sizing. So if you find a used pair of Docs and nobody knows where it came from originally, is there any way to know if the size is a UK size or a US size? I tried measuring the insole but it is difficult to be sure about an insole length measurement. I have a pair of shoes that are a 7, but is that a US 7 or a UK 7?

Most docs will have the uk sizing if they are older so it’s likely it’s uk.

They are really wide on me, I added an inner sole from my sports shoes to fix it but I still have to tighten them to the tightest point. Careful cause if they don’t fit right you might break an ankle.

Please take this up with paypal/depop. It's been 3 months so I'm not sure if you can still open a dispute, I hope you can! People put all sorts of rubbish in the description, not realising the app has its own terms and conditions. Don't get scammed out of money!!!

couldn't be further from the truth about ebay. ebay is hands down the safest place to both buy and sell any valuable clothing/shoes. ebay will refund a buyer with no questions asked, if someone receives a fake item. also, ebay hasn't been a "bidding" site since like the 90's. Predominantly, they're Buy It Now - Or Best Offer. What's depop's buyer protection look like? If it's anything like mercari/poshmark, it'll fizzle out. How do I know this? I sell high-end, authentic shoes on ebay as a side hustle. I gross $3600/month roughly, have sent a ton of nike's, new balance, asics etc. through their 3rd party authenticator program and have never had an unhappy customer. I've had shoes sell within 12 minutes of listing them. If you want to buy vintage/distressed Doc's, I'd suggest searching ebay. The people that do run auctions, are usually boomers that don't really understand the state of ecommerce in 2021 and always wonder why their item sold for so little. You'll be able to grab doc's from their auctions for pennies on the dollar! take advantage.

Thanks Joy for the comment! I definitely feel like that is important topic to speak about and I’ve been trying to gather as much information as I can to hopefully make a video. Although I have been weighing up whether my voice is the right one to spread that information over someone more informed than me but I’m learning that having a small community on this platform is the perfect place to spread change.
