I love people who make their own tabletop systems! You are contributing to the hobby and spread creatove energy, and that is endlessly valuable, bro!

Thank you. It's just playing with toy soldiers really, but I do like it!

I would love to use these for the “Dark Ages” (and the Fall of Rome)!!! The leader’s “span of control” reminds me a lot of the ICS (Incident Command System) we used at work, for disaster management situations

They work well for those periods. If you are interested please do drop me an e-mail, and I will send you the pdf.

I took the rules out for a spin this evening. I made a few mistakes, but had a blast. Thanks for sharing them.

Some interesting changes to your previous rules. I cannot wait to see some more of your battles using Manic Mediaeval Mayhem. I am interested in hearing about your age of sail rules.

Thanks. I am very keen to fight some more battles using the new rules. The delay is because I ordered some figures for the next Halfland battle 2 months ago, and still nothing has arrived. Frustrating!

@@jamesathertonyt I know those feelings. I live in Japan and it all takes an age to get here.

I am very interested! I've just sent you an email for a copy. I collect, paint and wargame whenever my dogs allow me to. I am getting older and increasingly absent minded too. Thanks!

I’m curious if you’ve played the forbidden lands rpg or are familiar with it. It has my favorite medieval combat rules so far. Even though it’s not really made for big battles.
@jamesathertonyt2 ай бұрын
No, I'm not familiar with it. Maybe I should check it out.

Thank you. I received your e-mail, and you should have received my reply with the latest version of the rules attached. They are pretty much identical to the version described in the video, except that it is a harder for figures that are out of command range to withdraw: they need a roll of 3+ rather than it being automatic.

I noticed you had, I believe, halflings in one picture on round bases. Is there a reason you chose round bases for them? I know you said in another video that you preferred square/rectangular ones.
@jamesathertonyt Жыл бұрын
I have always used square or rectangular bases for my 20mm figures, and still do so. The figures on round bases are not 20mm halflings, but full sized 10mm figures. Interestingly enough I started collecting 10mm figures when trying to find some figures that I could use for 20mm halflings. I bought a pack of 10mm figures to see if they would do. They wouldn't. At that point I should have just put the 10mm figures away, but instead I painted them up, and then I needed to buy some more 10mm figures to keep them company, and I ended up with quite a lot of them. I put them all on 15mm round bases simply because I had some left over from a WW2 project, and I thought they looked quite good.
