This one is definitely a big leap from what they used to be and had a deeper meaning on how the channel their voices. It's part of the peak of their harmonies. But definitely, from Never Gone, "Safest Place to Hide", "Lose it All", "Crawling Back To You", "I Still" are, in my opinion, the strongest songs in the whole album. Not degrading the rest of the songs cause I love them all, but I always get a strong feeling from those songs.

Older BSB relied heavily on Brian, but since his voice issues later on, they've leaned more on Nick...should watch their documentary (sad what Brian has gone through to save his voice)

Backstreet writes/ co-writes some of their songs. For example, Brian co-wrote “Larger Than Life”. Some of the songs that the members wrote are not singles, which is why some people may not know those songs.

Well Aj wrote this song. They're incredible writers actually. Kevin wrote back to your heart. Howie wrote What makes you different, makes you beautiful. How did I fall in love with you. AJ also wrote yes I will. Mostly I'm always impressed by their adaptability. They've work with SO many producers across genres and hit it out of the park almost every time

I agree that Nick's voice is the most comercial one for a boyband in the 90s and I also agree that 20 years later his voice seems to have reached a more mature sound and I like it! This was their comeback song in the 2000s and I was surprised to see how much the sound of the music and their voices had matured without making us miss the romantic, nostalgic, dramatic feeling that, yes, to me, only BSB had back in the day. I feel like you should check out Everybody if you haven't yet to finish their older songs and Inconsolable, another great hit from this album.

You should react to Inconsolable, Chances, and No Place. The guys were older, but still sound great. For a more upbeat try Show Them What You're Made Of, More Than That, and Don't Go Breaking My Heart. BSB sounds so good, never lost that unity and soulful sound.

Even though they came out first, New Kids on the Block are the only other Boy Band with harmonies close to BSB. Since they had YEARS apart, BSB was able to surpass them. Love that they collaborate at one point and became close.

Tbh Nick literally was so young when BSB started and for those who has been with them since day 1, have seen him grow as an artist, musician, and a man as well. True..he wasn’t the strongest vocalist in the group..when you have such vocal talent in Brian and AJ as well as solid/strong vocals in Kevin and Howie who already matured as vocalists and know their range/skills. Nick’s voice changed over the years from singing the tenor/alto parts when he was younger that we all heard in their earlier songs. To when he was a young adult and his vocals matured A LOT. He finally found himself as an artist/vocalist in his mid to late 20s and he also went through A LOT in his personal life. That really pushed him to really work hard not only as himself as a person, but also in his music career. As many comments had said, his vocals aged like FINE WINE..it has gotten so much better and that range!!! He found his sweet spot tbh!! If you listen to his solo records and the recent music BSB has released..his lower register is just so good!! He is so versatile now!! I mean of course I’ve always been a fan of AJ....come on that soul..that richness is just EAR CANDY. Brain has such a flawless vocals that can be sweet, but super powerful. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been the same since he got sick a few years ago..his vocal chords took a hit cuz of that. So his voice has not been the same, but he can still SING BEAUTIFULLY. But we should give Nick his flowers and appreciate him!!

Probably my favorite BSB song of all time. Thanks for reacting to it! It's a very powerful and epic song and as you picked up Nick really shines here, he has a great voice that's gotten richer over the years, he was amazing on The Masked Singer. This song came out around the time after Nick had started to get it together after having gone through drug and alcohol addiction for years, since being a young kid, eventually being helped by Kevin, who indeed plays piano on this song, who gave him a book about the power of positive thinking. This song also marked a change in their music style moving forward. A more grow-up sound. I'm not too familiar with the writing process of their songs but I know they started out with mostly Cheiron (Max Martin and co) songs and have since moved on and gotten back with them on music and I'm sure they are much more involved nowadays. This is getting long, but I feel after yesterday that this was a magic restorer to me, you know what I mean Anton, thanks again. ❤

I would just like to take a moment and appreciate vocals for the instrument it actually is. People tend to only think of drums, pianos etc as ”actual instruments” but being able to master vocals takes a lot of time, effort and dedication as well. They don’t just happen to have a nice voice and sing. They practice it, challenge it, train breath control, runs, scales, and belly support. It’s a lot of techique.

been waiting for this one, my fav BSB song! as far as the writing goes, the group co-writes a lot of their stuff, but they even have a whole album (In a World Like This) where they rented a house for a month together in London to write the album themselves. so the majority of that album is completely written by the guys. in addition, kevin wrote “back to your heart” and brian “larger than life” both from the Millennium album, Nick and Howie wrote their single “It’s Christmas Time Again” (which nick actually had the idea to write this song for the group shortly after he got sober as sort of an apology to the guys for his recklessness during that time to prove to them that he was still passionate about the group and taking things seriously again) [source: nick’s book “facing the music”], Kevin wrote “Never Gone” for his father who passed away, Kevin and AJ wrote “show em” for their children, etc… their first couple of albums were heavily written by producers (i assume due to the fact that they were inexperienced and really young), but from my understanding- from Millennium onwards they’ve wrote a good chunk of their material. a random fun fact- a single “chances”, from their most recent album was actually written by shawn mendes. would love to see you react to it! also, you mentioned kevin playing the piano- he’s played it on tour during songs like 10,000 promises & back to your heart. and nick can play drums and guitar exceptionally well. he’s played them at different times on BSB tours, as well as guitar heavily during his solo tours. i don’t usually comment on youtube vids lol, sorry for this long winded message if you happen to read it, but i enjoy your reactions and love BSB!

If you watch live performances from the 1998-2009 range, the guys each play different instruments at times. Kevin is a phenomenal pianist, Nick is a drummer, AJ and Howie both do piano and percussion, and Brian plays guitar. I think it was on the Never Gone tour that at one point they broke out the live instruments. But also don't forget they did the 90s boy band choreography for their music videos and live performances too. So they can dance while singing. Howie for a while in like 2019 starred in a stage musical that he'd written and spent a few months touring the US for that show. AJ and Nick have both been on Dancing With the Stars in the past. And they are all dads on top of it! Super super talented and multifaceted guys!!!

Nick played a very "behind the scenes" part in BSB as a whole until about this time. (Read his book, "Facing the Music, and Living to Talk About It" to get his whole story on what he went thru, and why he wasn't as good as he could have been. They've written a bunch of songs.. or co-wrote (Since you love Brian and Aj.. check out Brian's song he wrote "That's What She Said" ... I recommend a live version, where he's playing guitar. AJ's song Nightvisions is a really good one! ... I would love to see a react on that! AJ actually wrote almost every single song off his solo album "Have It All" and JC (from NSYNC) actually co-wrote Teenage Wildlife. O.O BSB released their In A World Like This Album (2013)- under their own label. (KBAHN) - Also. Nick plays the drums and guitar. Kevin plays piano. Brian plays guitar. AJ, Nick, and Kevin have taken courses in dancing. Kevin starred on broadway while he took a break from BSB.. AJ, Nick, and Brian have done acting in movies, as well as the whole group doing a cameo in "This Is The End" Do a react to AJ's solo. "Have It All" !!! I also think you would really like "London" And the video for "Night Visions" would be an awesome react too!

Nick plays drums too. Kevin plays keys. Brian plays guitar. This album, Never Gone, was probably their most acoustic album in the sense that you can hear the pure instruments in the songs. Not a lot, if any, synthesizing and 'poppy' sound. Good album. Around this time is where they have some unreleased songs that are RnB style.

This is a top 5 BSB song for me. Loved your reaction! You give a lot of value with your insights and made me see the song with a new perspective. And you're right, no one does drama like the Backstreet Boys - especially Nick 😄Speaking of Nick, his voice has matured beautifully over the years and he has a very, very good range. In the acapella song, Breathe, from their latest DNA album, he actually does all the lower register harmonies. You can see it very clearly in the live concert videos of their current tour. And he was outstanding in the Masked Singer. It would be great if you could react to that!

Glad you’re doing a Backstreet Boys video it’s been awhile, picked a great song too. It’s from 2005, after not dropping an album for 5 year’s. They went with a different sound here, Millennium and Never Gone are my favorite BSB album’s. This is Kevins last album they did 2 without him, till he came back In a World Like This. You still have to react to earlier stuff like All I Have To Give and I’ll Never Break Your Heart, great songs vocally. Backstreet Backs is a better Larger than Life for you if you react to it, Darlin is a catchy song too. AJ and Brian are my favorites but Nick you got it spot on improved vocally as he got older. And by the way they can play instruments, Nick can play drums and Guitar and Brian can play Guitar as well. You know Kevin plays piano, they have written songs since the Millennium album. Just none of the songs they wrote were big billboard hits, but Back to your Heart by Kevin is a dope song I like so is Never Gone off of Never Gone written by Kevin I like. Brian has Larger than Life and The Perfect Fan both off of Millennium really catchy songs, he also wrote That’s what she said but it wasn’t an album song, they wrote a few songs on Black and Blue as well. They’re a well developed group that’s always shown growth and development

This is my absolute favorite song from BSB! Getting to see them sing this in concert in 2019 was like a damn dream! lol

Their producers through the years have been awesome people who get them and their strengths. All of them have helped write and compose some of their songs and contribute ideas for their videos. Their newer music 2010+ they wrote a lot, especially 2013+ albums. They are very involved and dedicated which is why they’re so successful. Not sure why their albums aren’t on the requests, but you’d have a lot to go through because they all slap. Newest 2019 album they’re on tour for now is amazing imo. It’s hard to choose ofc, but my absolute favs have always been this (why’d it take so long! 😂) and Get Another Boyfriend.

Love your reaction to this! As for your question about what we think of producer's writing a lot of their songs... I think, first of all, they've all proven their unique songwriting capabilities in some of their songs together and in their solo work. I don't mind that they use other songwriters though, first, because they always give credit and second, because I think they consider themselves vocalists first based on some interviews I've seen. I think they are all mulit-talented though and they write when they want to but can also recognize songs other people write that they would arrange or perform well. I appreciate all of it, personally. As long as artists don't try to take credit, it never really bothers me. Also I think they put so much soul into their songs whether they write them or not. Also, Nick plays drums and guitar, Kevin plays piano, Brian plays guitar and I'm not sure about AJ and Howie.

Okay, this is definitely their best song, right? I love this song so much man, definitely in my top 75 favourite songs ever! It is so emotional, but so different than every other ballad of that decade,at least. It is like a new subgenre for ballads....this is a movie ballad, without even being in a movie 😂 everytime i listen to it i get the same chills that i get from Because of You by Kelly, for example, but with different feelings,if you get what i mean. Anyway, great reaction, easily their best masterpiece

Kevin wrote "Back to your heart" to his now wife after they broke up when they where dating. It was not a single but you can find videos of they performing it. Kevin always gets emocional. It is a beautiful song and one of my favorites ever. I've just found your channel and I already love it. Sorry for the coments on old videos. Love from Brazil.

Incomplete is one of my favorite BSB songs, do react to "I Still" you'll love it too, it's from the same comeback album Never Gone and the best thing about this album is they added rock elements to it which was never been done by a boyband before!

Nick plays guitar and they've written a lot of their songs but they usually don't get released as singles which is sad, you should check out "Close my eyes" from Unbreakable album it's a hidden gem you'll be amazed that why it wasn't released as a single, it's a huge song and they've written it by themselves!

I would love for you to react to their very first album. They have a song called "everytime I close my eyes" and it's one of my favorites. It is more 'poppy' and more in the era of the 90s boyband vibe - but still brilliant.

They have co-written lots of songs. And individually they have written some songs on their albums but I don't know if they have all wrote one together or not. I believe they did write one on their new Christmas album though.
