You summed up my thoughts almost exactly. I went stir crazy a few months ago just getting into emulation. Started with the rg35xx, then got a Miyoo Mini + and a Powkiddy x55 on prime day.. And of course I got the rg353vs for my birthday too 😅 Luckily was able to return the X55 in time and purchased the RP3+. I am beyond amazed ( after following 2 set up guides and probably 8 hours of set up) I feel bad for my other emulators.

But once it's setup, it's setup. Done and done. I have the Retroid Pocket 3+ Metal edition and it's a bloody work of art mate compared to Anbernic products.

I’ve owned my retroid pocket 3+ for 3 months. The setup is surely not for newbies. As many have stated, Daijisho is the best android loader front end. One must be comfortable side loading retroarch (to get the latest version), figuring out other google play store emulators to purchase, settings…and so much more. But if one is willing to watch and follow the great video guides…this machine is so close to greatness.

I got one for my brother for his birthday. I have it all set up, now I'm just testing Gamecube and PS2 games. Some PS2 games won't even boot up, not sure why. Some run poorly, and some run great, and it's not always the ones you think. A lot of Gamecube games just run perfectly. I'm growing a nice collection of PS2 games too. Some games won't boot, but that's really less about the hardware, and more about the emulator. If a better PS2 emulator comes out, more games will run better.

Yo at first I didn’t want to learn how to install and setup emulators but once you learn it gets easier every time , my first time learning was for the miyo mini and at first I was like nah but it helps me now for things like the RP3+ it’s like easier to setup now since they all are kinda similar to setup . So if anyone’s reading and hesitant on doing the install just do it and if you fail keep trying you’ll get it . I’m not that smart with tech and I learned it , you only fail if you don’t get back up and try again or just never try

I use my RP3+ mainly as a 3D console such as PS1, Dreamcast, PSP, etc. and I use my RG353v as a modern Gameboy for lower consoles like SNES, GENESIS, and the Gameboy line games because I like the form factor for those games and the 353V is a handheld I can just easily toss in my bag and have quick sessions on it.

With minimal tinkering, I have some great results for ps2 emulation : devil may cry 3, silent hill 2, metal gear solid 2 and 3, resident evil 4,… all run perfect to me. At first I also used it as a upgraded psp ☺️ it does psp way better than the psp does

What, if any, of these Retro handhelds don't have a tedious, confusing (for beginners) process to set 'em up and get games? I managed to get Nintendo 64 games on my Flip but am still having trouble with PlayStation 2.

This looks tight. Just like a phone screen. I am new to emulators/handhelds, so for your 8 hours it would be days of setup for me. Still waiting for my 353VS, Company i ordered from said they ran out of stock…

Yo. What was the last boxing game you were playing? I just pulled my vita out again and a load of my psp roms were corrupted so had to delete them all and start over. My go to game at the moment is retro city rampage. Its like an updated version of the original top down GTA games, its a lot of fun. Worth checking out if you haven't played it already.
