Might be an idea to have your office on the bottom floor; that way the first floor is for relaxing and your personal life. You can come downstairs after breakfast, go upstairs for lunch, and come back up again once you've done your day's work. Compartmentalizing like that will improve your work/life balance, and will mean that you only need to keep one room spotlessly clean for work associates ... like having a flat above your office.

Congrats on the house Norma! It looks great! As a bachelor with his own house (Goin on 7yrs), there is NO RUSH to fill it up & take your time to make it all your own. I took my den space & made it into a Green Bay Packer Room, filled with all my Packers gear, TV, 2 recliners, Packer Christmas tree, trains near the ceiling, etc. Every year something new got added to it. Ive only watched one game in it but its still a place to hang out in when I need to. Even my spare bedrooms, I made one for my dog for him to sleep in & the other is still pending what to do with it.

@@dennisaugustine6544I'm with you Dennis, especially given that per se a house here in Silicon Valley is 1.7 million dollars median price (although the median income is also much higher here, so a lot of people do own homes)....I would say easily 80% of residents here in the San Francisco Bay Area are renters, if it's not higher. But that's just the local culture. If you own a home around here, you share it with others. 🙂 If I were the win the lottery or something, I would probably buy a house, but then I would house exchange students or immigrant families. 🙂

Congrats on the new home and please learn from my (bad) experience, I had one of those upstairs closet washer and dryer sets. Even though they were brand new when I moved in, my washer at three years old broke a hose line and that leak flooded my downstairs bedroom. Since I did not explicitly have flood insurance in my home - the insurance co. refused to pay for the bedroom damage and I was on the hook for $5K. Afterwards my plumber fixed my damages and suggested I put a floor pan in the closet where the washer sat. I moved out of that house nearly a decade ago - but never forgot the lesson learned. Hope it can help you out.

For 14 days Iranians visit fam & friends homes wishing them prosperity, success, happiness & good health. I wish the same for you. Our new year signifies a time for rebirth (like in nature/baby animals), renewal, refresh, restart, etc. Winter & darkness is gone, now life can begin again type of thing. Then the Sunday closest to the 14th day we gather at a park, release the fish in a creek & throw the spouted sprouts in too. Congrats. A while back I finally bought my first home on my own, then I got married 5 years later. It's a simple 4 bed 2 bath with inground heated pool and inground hot tub for guests. Take your time filling up the house based on your life style needs and work needs. I converted my 3 extra rooms into an home office since I work from home, a personal home gym, and finally a guest bedroom. The master bedroom is separated on the other side of the house so there is enough space my wife and I. We don't have kids yet, but my wife and I have thought out future purpose for the rooms. Best of luck on your new house purchase. It looks cozy.

Congratulations on your new townhouse! I had a similar one by the same builder a few years ago. My only issue was they didn't do a good job with soundproofing between my unit and the end unit and I could hear the people next door talking very clearly whenever they were downstairs and I was in my bedroom. Looks like you're in a corner unit with your bedroom on the opposite side, so you should be good if they haven't stepped up their game. I do miss the way they do their kitchens as I also got mine with a peninsula rather than an island. So much counterspace. 😍
