just FYI, industrial machines always come with a double spool thread stand, one spool supplies the machine, and the other goes to the bobbin winder. it saves you the hassle of unthreading and rethreading every time you want to wind a bobbin

Woohoo!! Congrats!! I just bought a Juki DNU-1541s walking foot. Also intimidating but I’m getting used to her. Definitely a beast compared to my domestic. But...the things she can do wow!! I googled and found a manual very helpful. Hugs, Lin

Your machine is amazing! I have been thinking about buying one for a while now. I have 2 domestics, & recently bought a Juki serger portable. I now know for thick materials, like leather, canvas, etc ya need one of the lovely industrials. I have an old 52 year olde Singer industrial that works, so we'll be trying that for a while. Love this video!

Congratulations!!!! I hope you were able to figure the machine out. I got a semi industrial, but it doesn't have a regulator on the motor so its super fast. But before I got to use it, the table it was on collapsed and the machine tumbled to the ground and locked up. I need to find a repair shop. There are plenty of thread suppliers, I'm not sure who delivers to Canada, but Im sure it wont be hard to find a couple. Have fun! Cant wait to see what tutorials you have for us.

Thanks for the video. Much appreciated. Can you give any information regarding minimum and maximum stitch length, maximum thickness it can manage (height foot to bottom), the little turnable button is that for the stitch length, etc.?

I just got one of these. It won't catch the bobbin thread or it breaks the top thread. Machine is timed right needle goes far enough. I don't know what else to check.
@Charmedbyashley
@Charmedbyashley Жыл бұрын
check your tension on your bobbin casing. when things are too tight the thread can melt and break. if your thread is too thick for your needle also the thread can melt and "break"

Hi Ashley, I have an old mitsubishi too. You probably made the only one video about it in the world 😂 (I'm French) I try also to use mine but it's very difficult. Quite often my thread breaks and I have lot of difficulties to fix that issue. On your side, have you progressed with it? Thanks for your video❤️

oh i know! i couldnt find anything for this darn machine, haha i felt like i was the only one! so glad to hear others with this machine. so i took leap and i changed out the motor to a servo motor and its like night and day, its so much easier to use now. i grabbed it over off of amazon, and it was fairly easy to install. the clutch motor is horrible and makes it so much harder to use imo. you must have some tension issues you need to work through. the little spring on my tension dial ended up snapping and i had to replace it. i was again having issues with it and had to fiddle with it, the thread kept popping out during sewing but finally it seems to have stopped, not sure what i did haha. there is a gentle men that has a threading video on youtube that i used to thread my machine, its not the same brand but identical in every way. have you see it? kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4iof5ahgJtmmpo maybe this can help you. but ya since changing out the motor i love it way more and im able to do so much more!

Done a bit of sailmaking/marine trimming. haven't worked with this machine specifically but have worked with quite a few walking foot industrial machines like this one, mostly Adlers. In regards to the back lever, you should not need to oil that, they usually are a lot stiffer than your standard domestic machine, they have a heavier spring due to these machines needing a lot more foot pressure. You can adjust the spring tension however, but I am not too sure of how to do that. As for the oil points, not all those points will be for oil, the will usually be at the base near the foot, on top of the head and sometimes there is one in the middle of the arm. I also put a few drops of white oil strait down the needle hole to lubricate the bobbin casing. Just a small thing I noticed you doing when you started to sew: when holding the thread you pulled it back directly from the needle. In my experience, you need to pull a little tighter than a domestic, so this can sometime bend a needle and shred it on the foot. (when you break a needle on these things, they will 'shred'). I usually thread through the hole in the foot, so I am pulling on against the foot, not the needle. As for the speed you will get used to that with time, took me a few months. I really enjoyed watching your video, you are clearly a very experienced textiles tradesman.

Congratulations!! Really beautiful machine!! I would contact your local sewing machine repair shop to find out more information. I purchased a fabricator from sailrite and they helped me get started. It looks similar to mine but I have the oil pan in the bottom. They may be able to get some info for you. Hope you have great success with this new machine!!

Don't suppose you have a user manual for it?...I have spent hours looking. Parts lists, no problem. User manual, impossible. I've just bought a dy-350 but it looks identical and has the same splash guard underneath rather than a big sump with wicks.
