Excellent idea attaching them to the receiver. I have four of the pucks and it still is a pain trying to keep them up while putting the jack stands under them. Lower the Jack, raise the jack etc. until you get it right. You eliminated the problem. Thanks.

I saw this video a long time ago and found it very helpful. Lately I've been thinking there's an even better way to do this. Your video inspired me to try my own solution. The rubber pads didn't work for me as the ones I bought had way too much play in them, but I also had 4 metal jackpads already. Aha moment this past weekend: VELCRO. Added some velcro strips to the inside of the adapter and the top of the metal pucks and now i can stick them up when i need to jack the car up, but don't have to have them on the car all the time!

This is exactly what I do! I have 4 adapters with Velcro that I install to use when using my Quick Jack. Makes life very easy and is removeable!

I just cut four hockey pucks to the rough dimensions of the jack pads (e.g. the ones all over Amazon), making each a bit "taller" than those (with the rectangular portion larger, so it's sure to contact the top of the pocket on the frame rail. Drilled a small hole in the short ends of each pocket and screwed them in place with 2 small screws. They're now fixed in place, and invisible. Love it.

The jack pad adaptors are aluminum? Just got them in the mail. Shouldnt they be rubber to prevent slippage?

Hmm aluminum circle with rubber attached costume made. Did it on mine held by one bolt in middle. You won’t have the wear problem easier to get to and you could even color it for fast eye catch….. your idea works but again those things would need maintenance. My idea won’t and even attached extra ones like one in the middle of car. Faster to get two wheels off the ground.

Great vid. If your jack stands are like mine, the tops are an upside down arch as seen from the side and rectangular as seen from above. I'd suggest trimming a little off the round part of the adapters, parallel to the long side of the rectangular part so that the adapter fits down into the top of the jack stand instead of resting on top of it.

Use hockey pucks on the floor jack and stands. That way you don’t attach anything to your car. Simple and a lot cheaper than 40.00 a pop. Yes it will work on conventional jack stands. Or buy some jack stands that have flat tops from Esco. I applaud your effort but not necessary to go through that much trouble. As far as worrying about damage at a shop, no BMW dealer is going to cause damage and really how often is an independent shop going to be lifting your car and causing damage they aren’t responsible to replace. For you DYI’er do you homework. Hockey pucks also don’t sustain any permanent indentation like your pads display. Any sporting goods place has them for a few dollars each. Buy the practice pucks as they are softer. Not my idea but I use them all the time.

You do realise those relievers on the bottom of the car are designed for almost any scissors jack to slot into and jack the car up, right?
