Love you speaking about your skin! People just easily act as if it’s superficial to care if your skin isn’t clear. But it’s so hard to deal with acne even if we know deep down it doesn’t matter.

This is such a powerful message. As someone who has struggled so so much with acne the biggest thing I’ve learned is it’s your heart that matters most. To love who you are inside is the most important thing and to surround yourself with others who love you as well. You’re such a beautiful person and those who know that will see your flaws as a beautiful thing rather than a negative. 😊😊

It’s so stressful. I too have struggled with acne for as long as I can remember. It breaks my confidence and luckily over the last two years I’ve changed myself inside out and healing my hormones naturally. It’s still hard there’s still hard days and I’m so thankful your willing to be vulnerable and raw about your own experiences because it really does help other people.

Thank you for talking about the skin!!!! I had perfect skin for 30 years and at 30 got hormonal acne, I've been seeing a naturopath but still struggling to get it completely under control. Knowing I'm not alone feels good. I will never take my skin for granted again. I feel so insecure over my acne

You are so beautiful..inside and out. I completely relate to the deep emotions of skin issues. I’m right there with you. I have tried everything for the last few years too. I’m happy you have hope in a new treatment. Definitely do an update if it helps. I’m at the point you are! 💗

Girl! You were preaching! 💜 I so relate to what you were saying about the skin. I use to struggle with eczema on my whole body, including my face and it can be so depressing because not only does it truly affect your confidence, but even more so when your skin physically hurts, it hurts to move, to talk, to smile, to do all the positive things that make you feel good. So much love towards your journey and thank you for sharing!

I am so excited. My daughter and I are very inspired by you Sami. We lead a good clean healthy lifestyle anyway but have found you to be a great inspiration as you are so real and caring. Took the plunge and ordered 2 journals for myself and my daughter even though we live in the UK and will cost me over $100 dollars with import tax , but worth every bit. Keep doing what you are doing Sami xxx

Sending love your way! I have been there with my skin. I get it girlfriend. I remember crying at my bridal makeup trial because makeup wasn’t covering my skin and my skin was so broken out along with being dry and flaky from all the products I was trying. Just something else to suggest looking into- liver congestion can cause acne if you haven’t checked your liver. Also check your drainage pathways, make sure you’re going to the bathroom (bowel movements) daily, sweating, that kinda thing. I hope whatever you decide to try next works. Keep us posted!!

I there! In the video you mentioned that you feed your golden-doodle a grain free diet. I am a fellow golden-doodle mom to 2 furry boys. With our first I started him on food that was grain free, for no particular reason, and at his year check up the vet informed me that a grain free diet for specific dog breeds, which includes golden-doodles, has been linked to cardiomyopathy. The vet suggested that he only be on this diet if he has food intolerances to grains, otherwise it was highly suggested i switch foods. I just wanted to bring awareness to this, as we want our furry kiddos to have the best health and be with us as long as they can.

Really glad you did a deep dive on the journal! I was on the fence until seeing how wonderfully detailed it is. Just ordered it-yay! Can’t wait to get started! Love it when you bake, Sami! I can so relate to your experience with the cookie dough. My go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe is the Grain-free Olive Oil Chocolate Chip Cookie from Gathered Nutrition. One of the best cookies I’ve tasted and such healthy ingredients! 😋 I substitute a flax egg (1 tablespoon flax meal mixed with 3 tablespoons water) for the egg in the recipe.

Thank you for your openness about your skin! I have struggled for the last few years and like you, I have tried a variety of remedies - supplements, diet changes, blood tests, laser treatments, topical ointments, etc. It can feel very defeating. & it's tough to feel confident. All this to say, I feel you completely and I am extending lots of love to you with your skin journey. xo.

I have a lot of troubles with acne and I'm so happy that you're talking about it. Litterly what you're saying is so true. People do not get the point of acne if they didn't where in the same state. But what we have to remember that we are more than our skin. I tell myself everyday how beautiful I am and I show up in a way I would like other ones to show up in their life. Again, thank you so much for mentioning this subject. It means a lot for me. For now, I'm using roaccutane for the upcoming 8 months. It's a heavy medicine and I've used it 1 year ago for 6 months but unfortunately It came back. Hoping that my second cure will help me out of it. For now, I love you and you inspire me and others. Keep going beauty! ❤

People say this all the time but I appreciate your honesty with regards to your skin. My skin has been acting up for two years now and it's been very difficult as I've cut some foods out and began buying skincare products that I really can't afford on my student budget. I've spoken to the nurses on campus about it, and I've been referred to a doctor, so I'm praying that helps 🙏🏿

Girl I'm WITH you on your chat about your experience with acne. I'm even a naturopathic doctor, did all the testing, took all the supplements, experimented with some pretty extreme diets/detoxes/etc. I even started learning about something called corneotherapy, then took product formulation courses and made my own skincare line, I was getting so frustrated lol. I mean, my skin is great now but that doesn't mean I'm not immune to having the odd breakout and it definitely feels so defeating when it happens after years of work to try and solve it. I love you mentioned that mental/emotional aspect too bc I really do feel it's such a major missing piece in healing any chronic condition, including acne. Anyways that was long...love following along with you, love hearing about your experiences!

Babe I relate to you so much with your skin journey. I also tried for so long to do the natural route. I’m actually studying to be a naturopathic doctor and really wanted to do it the holistic way. But sometimes medication is what someone needs in that moment. I ended up going on accutane and my skin has never been better and I’m so grateful I just was open minded about what I needed in that moment. I know you said you already tried accutane but I know some people can relapse and require a second round of accutane. Definitely do what you and your doctor decide but it might be a good option ❤️ ps you are gorgeous inside and out, acne or not. You truly are such a beautiful perso !
@erikaobuchowicz2 жыл бұрын
Also, I understand the struggle with skin because the moment you break out it causes stress and it’s a vicious cycle to break. At the end of the day going on accutane helped my mental health on such a deep level that even though it wasn’t “natural” it helped to heal me on such a deeper level. Love you Sami best of luck on your skin journey!

Wow love your true honest self. I can relate to you SO much, and I’m on the same journey. My skin was so good for so long … i cut a lot of food out. Eat super healthy … drink water.. teas… take probiotics and just trying to heal my gut, I’m still getting breakouts 😢 it makes no sense. I’m more on the holistic approach to things also.. but I just don’t know why nothing is working. Any updates for things that have helped ?

I have suffered the exact same skin flare ups and downs the last 10 years and the podcast by Dr Will Cole - How to Heal Acne from the inside - out - Danielle Gronich + Kayleigh Christine was a game changer for me! Also discovered I have a histamine intolerance so any food high in histamine and sugars make my acne flare up again

Hi Sami, I don't know if its an issue with your skin, but in my case it was coconut oil which caused the acne. When I cut it off from my diet, my skin healed very nicely, hope it may help you♥️🙏😘

Just an FYI- I was on seed and my skin freaked out. My derm told me some probiotics would not work with my skin/hormones. Once I got off it drastically cleared up. Just something to try
@Michelle7.172 жыл бұрын
Hormonal acne is rough! The two products that helped “clear up” my acne are: 1) Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Castile soap, straight-up, don’t mix it with water! 2) Thayer’s toner, any scent, I used lemon and rose, they worked the same. I also pretty much stopped wearing makeup unless it was a special occasion. I’m sure that you are tired of everyone’s input, but this recipe helped me immensely 😉
