This seems like one of the best choppers, based on the KZbin reviews I've been watching all day. Many people are using food processors but they get all shredded, almost blended. This does a proper dicing.

I thought your tip about sheltering the gear was GREAT! Not just for the reasons you stated, but for families with children who like to be with their parent in the kitchen--one excited turn of the head could definitely swing hair within catching distance of it. I'm not an inventor by any means, but it seems that something bowl-like--wide enough to encase the rotation area would be great, maybe secured by a wrap-around Velcroed strap (probably the cheapest way to attach the bowl to the mixer)? In any case, I also appreciated the camera work very much so we could see all the mixer parts and then the close ups of the dicer in action. Now I'm going to see if I can find videos about the rest of the attachments in the box (can't find the manual for mine) Thanks so much for taking the time to create the video and share it with us.

Wow. Had to replace a beater bar on my KitchenAid...,but it’s so old I actually have to buy a whole new KitchenAid (nearly 40 yrs old). So I’m looking at the pasta attachment, this dicer and a sheet cutter (make a great vegan lasagna and other things). Yes, looking at the ice cream maker but unsure 😐 about room for storage. Here’s a little hint I just picked up for ya : use a “Command Strip” on the top back of appliances like this to wrap/store the cords! Also use these strips on the inside of cupboard doors for the dough bar, beater bars, etc. Thanks again for sharing & congrats on this wonderful investment / gift . You’re the best.

Not a stupid tip at all. I worked for a company that was working on a Hair Replacement for a man that caught his long hair on a lathe. It literally scalped him and took one of his ears with it. He was also having a prosthetic ear made for cosmetic purposes. I kid you not. Ever since then I I'm very aware when I'm working with a rotary tool of any type or bending over near a fan that I don't feel has a cage large enough to protect me.

First of all, I love all things Kitchenaid so it's sad for mee that I had to send my dicer back. Yours seems to work a lot better than mine did. I sent mine back for 2 reasons. First, I didn't like how small the dice size was. Secondly, it seems bulky and pressing the harder vegetables thru the hopper seemed to put a lot of stress on the connection to the machine.

to Use a Kitchen Aid Mixer to Prepare Tomatoes for .... › use-kitchen-aid-mixer-prepare-tomatoes-canning-using-fruit-vegetable-strainer-attachment As a general rule, you'll need to reduce by 1/2 to get tomato sauce and reduce by 3/4 to get tomato paste. We just bought this same setup a couple days ago. No problem dicing onions & peppers, but with tomatoes, the cutting grate quickly clogs up, and then everything just gets crushed, because the tomato isn't firm enough to push the previous layer of cubes through the grate. Even on the slowest setting, and even after putting olive oil on the grate, the first layer of cubes goes into the grate and gets stuck, and everything after that just gets crushed. We even tried freezing a couple tomatoes, and while a few diced pieces did make it into the bowl, after just a few seconds they were soft again and it was back to crushing. What are we doing wrong?
