Hi Jonas, I'm E-PROP fans , I've already installed few on 80hp and 100hp , be sure to have at the fix point 5500 rpm, when you're leveled off at 1500ft at WOT must be 5450 rpm after 2 min . I use to trim It at 5400 rpm and it goes great ! Remember 2 trick , first clean It before every take off ( if not It can stall a little ) , second put the cover everytime you stop , even for 10 min, the performance drop down if you leave the prop under the sun , It's the best prop ever !!! I've got 15 kmh on every plane I've installed It ! Fly safe . Alfiere

I am so used to seeing Ty over with Trent I forgot you even know him. I really love the flying community you guys have over there. A certain amount of crazy is ok, but no more getting stuck on top of mountains, or flipping the plane in the river, etc.. No commercial today was kind of a bummer, I love the commercials you do, especially the ones that include Silvija. Maybe you can get a sponsor that Ava can somehow participate in the commercial. A socket, 5/16" bolt, nut and washers is a quick way to make a tool to push out the drive lugs. Pounding on them with a hammer scares me.
@jimchuk85113 ай бұрын
A piece of short pipe with the inside diameter that just fits over the back side of the drive lug will let you push the drive lug further out before it would bottom out in the socket. I looked at my Kitfox project with the 912 again a few minutes ago. If the socket is to long, it will hit the gearbox case.

The Eprop is designed for WOT at 5500 rpm. This will give you the best cruise. Setting it too fine actually detracts from its perfomance. I know you want it for stol and es a finer pitch "should" be better but the Eprop is like no other prop. It is designed specifically for a rotax with a gearbox. Set the pich for 5500 WOT on the ground tied to the tree..that will probably give you about 5600 or so at WOT in the air

I just did the exact same swap from a 3 blade warp drive to the 4 blade e prop and used the same scale as you did. I went from 452 lbs with the warp to 501 lbs with the e prop at 5500 rpm static set at 17.5 degrees

I built a KITFOX II back in 1993, N582DA. I used to fly it into model airplane fields ( with invite, of course). I knew that anyplace I landed , I could take off from because that 582 Rotax had so much power with the carbon prop I had. In the early morning i would go up to 1500 ft before the 30 mph winds would migrate down. I would do my kite maneuver, where I would be completely stationary. Im sure there were some phone calls made below.

G,day Jonas, Silvia and Ava from Sydney Australia. Those e-props are French made: correct me if I'm wrong, albeit carbon and titanium composite material. You have proven the thrust efficiency. Now to see the durability of the leading edge of each blade. Q2. Cutting the exhaust pipe. My thinking... The exhaust gas further from the fuselage, the better. Even substituted for a little drag. Looks to me like the Warp Drive is under pitched. You mentioned that you needed more throttle to get 5600 RPM with the eProp. It would be interesting to see manifold pressure: you’re probably putting a lot less power into the Warp Drive, which is why it’s cruising so slow. You also mentioned it’s at 6100 RPM on takeoff while the eProp is at 5990. One fair comparison: set both to give 5600 RPM at WOT, and see if one gives higher airspeed. You could try to match RPMs on takeoff but that’s hard because things happen fast, whereas in cruise you can let things settle.
@JonasMarcinko3 ай бұрын
@@FinbarSheehy yeah it wasn’t a fair comparison for sure. But still impressive that the e-prop gave great results on both ends.

Brother ! I have several questions that i hope you'll have time to answer..... 1. Where did you get THIS Kit Fox !?! 2. I don't know the Kit Fox models like you people that own them. So what is this model ? It looks a lot like Tye's plane, which I thought you said was a model 4...? But YOUR paint job is even better than Tye's ! 3. I couldn't really tell from this video, but one of the other things i really like about Tye's plane is those wing tips that curve down. Does yours have those kind of tips ? What years of Kit Fix had those wings ? And now about your additions.... FABULOUS new tires ! and bigger IS definitely BETTER ! (look wise at least, but maybe not performance wise... Aye?) And last of all....the FAM' (and that position..."LAST"... Is certainly NOT where all of us viewers rank Ava and Sylvia because THEY are a LOT and maybe even the MAJORITY of the REASON THAT I like your videos ! ! ! So thanks for including them... Ava is growing so fast ! Anyways, congrats on getting THIS KIT FOX. I personally think it's the best looking plane you've ever owned !

Nice video. There are specs available online regarding rotax 912 max rpm. Basically, you shouldn't be exceeding 5600rpm like ever. I know people who set their props so that in level flight full throttle, you wouldn't exceed 5500 rpm. In the event of a throttle cable were to ever break in flight, because the original design of 912 advances to full throttle, you could fly back to home base and land if you lost throttle cable. But regardless I don't think that you want to see much over 5600rpm. I have read max rpm is 5800 rpm for 1 minute.
