This is what i learned from a Factory connection worker, use the psi to find your best feeling, then use the compression adjuster as a fine tuner. make sure to bleed and reset your air pressure every couple hours because it will change and make your front end feel harsh. Take it from a guy who went 40 hours before he knew to bleed and reset his pressure and i spent hours trying to find something I liked when all I had to do was that. On my 250 XC i run 125 psi and weigh 160 LB but also race XC, for moto days i usually run 130-135 and feel comfy there.
@StephenNymberg3 жыл бұрын
I put 137 in mine and I'm 165lbs. So seems about right! Thanks for the great tips. For bleeding, do I just simply let all the air out of the fork? Or it's a different process?
@carsonhill11953 жыл бұрын
@@StephenNymberg to bleed the forks there is a screw buy the air valve on the forks that is used to bleed the forks.

The air forks are def more of a pain to set bc when u take off the hose it spits out some air and you probably will miss regular oil suspension but when u get the right pressure it def feels good while riding

What to know on air forks. The air pressure should be like your spring rate for your weight. Don’t try to adjust the psi to conditions because you wouldn’t change your spring for different conditions. Once you get your PSI and rear spring to your correct weight with the racing and static sag of the manual, usually the “standard” settings on clickers will feel really good. I’m not an expert, but hope this helps.
@WTH31293 жыл бұрын
To add, keep a check on the pressures throughout the day when riding. I had ‘14 CRF450R with the air forks and noticed that after a good solid ride, the fork pressures would increase some due to heat. Now they may have changed from ‘14 to now but something to keep an eye on.

Just bought myself a husky 450 this year, air forks are incredibly frustrating at first to fine tune because they feel relatively inconsistent depending on humidity and heat, but i recommend looking up air pressure recommendations to your weight and be diligent about checking it throughout the day. I got B Kit Powerband Suspension on my Husky and it really helped with the braking bumps and harsher landings. Also HIGHLY RECOMMEND SKF FORK SEALS😂 stock ones go pretty quick. Looks like a super clean bike

Old 250s rip just as good if not better tho
@tylersvensson44683 жыл бұрын
@@davidbjorkholm310 I mean how exactly? The model update in 2017 for the Austrian brands was the best thing they did for 2 strokes as they changed the motor, added a whole new clutch setup including a counter balance shaft and the vibration full throttle is the same as the older models vibrating alone and on top of that there in a lot lighter of a chassis and 10x better suspension
@jacksonsterling7513 жыл бұрын
@@tylersvensson4468 Yea the old ktms most definitely do not rip better lol. Tylers exactly right, they made a ton of updates in 2017 and reduced the vibration a ton. The old ktm 250s were bulkier, heavier and vibrated til your arms fell off. power delivery is better on this new ktm too
@StephenNymberg3 жыл бұрын
Yea this 2020 is noticeably better than my 2013 250SX! WAY less vibration, power feels insane and chasis overall feels lighter and more advanced.

Hey Stephen I have a 03 yz250f. Top end pretty much all done up and iam going to start Mx racing this spring! But I was looking for a new bike and I’m interested in a ktm 250sx but I have never ridden a 2stroke would you consider this bike a good starter intermediate bike to start racing with? I’ve never driven a 2 stroke bike only 4 stroke and was curious about the 2 stroke game !
@StephenNymberg3 жыл бұрын
Hey John! How long have you been riding? The 250SX is an advanced bike. It’s like a 450! And the 2 stroke has a learning curve for sure. Maybe look into the KTM150sx if you’re wanting a two stroke. More power than a 125 and still get that 2 stroke fun. The 250sx is an animal!
