To be afraid of such a long winter is so normally. It is the hardest time, but if you have sun outside it is really helpful & a ofen for inside. I like your authenticity, that your are able to talk about real shit

I’m so glad you mentioned the beauty to be found in puddles, Daniel. I am your new subscriber from the UK and in my 70s! I LOVE to splash through puddles and look at the reflections of the sky and floating leaves too. Its something I have done since I was 4 years old and am still “at it” today - my husband used to walk with me and get quite irritated that I loved to get soaked and ‘act like a child’…he was a Police Officer and I think had no place for ‘the child within us all’ 😂…now I am alone I look at the sky and say, “YEP - I’m still enjoying myself”👌 Thank You for another beautiful video XXXX

I like your photography; the fog photos are ethereal and fascinating. The music you put with it is just right. As a child I lived in the woods and shared your appreciation of pools of water. I would carve little boats and watch them move with the flowing water. Frogs and bugs and water plants are intriguing. Nature is soul satisfying.

Omg Daniel 23'15" of indescribable beauty not only because of what we are seeing but because of your poetic description of each image and each moment. I have no doubt that you will find a way to deal with the future challenges that winter presents and make them look easy in our eyes. Nothing is enough for someone for whom enough is too little. Thank you dear for this oasis of peace that you gave us in difficult times where we are witnessing horrors that we thought would never happen again. "....Don't ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for anyone of us" Love you.

The Autumn colours are just stunning. Those potatoes looked so good. In Australia is very normal to dry clothes outside. We're about to move in to an apartment so I've bought a portable clothesline that I can use inside to dry my clothes as it seems so wrong to put them into a dryer. That clip of you swimming in the fog was so magical. As were the drone shots. The epitome of slow living must be stopping to admire rain puddles 🙂.

Daniel, beautiful photography as usual. The mold/fungus thing concerns me, deeply..! When I was teaching school, we had severe water damage inside the school building. Molds of various types began to grow, people became very ill. I ended up having to take 1 1/2 years off from my job. It took about 8 years for most of the symptoms to go away. So, please, as I'm sure you are already aware, mold/fungus inside a building can be very dangerous to your health. Exposed to it long enough, it can actually kill you (hypersensitivity pneumonitis) - a microscopic disintegration of the lungs. Once it starts to form in the lungs, it's very difficult (sometimes impossible) to stop.. So, do be careful, dear lad... As always, all the best from Yakima, WA., USA.

Hi Daniel 😊 You are right, it is so much better to have your own vegetables and fruits. Your potatoes look great! And all the jams too (we don't have lingonberries here 😕). We always dry our clothes outside, it's nice unless it's winter 😀 Crossing the fingers that it's "just" mold, haha 😀 We poured bacteria in our outhouse and they decompose what's there. Just a tip 😉

- Arthur Rimbaud It's the exquisite morning hour That a sudden sun blushes. Through the autumn mist Fall the leaves from the garden. Their fall is slow. You can follow them with your eyes, recognizing The oak with its copper leaf, The maple with its blood leaf. The last, the most rusty, Fall from the bare branches; But it's not winter yet. A blond light waters Nature, and, in the rosy air, You'd think it was snowing gold.

Hi Daniel - I missed seeing you last week! Glad to see that everything is going well, despite the fact that you’ve been having to haul laundry & shit😉 Although an inconvenience, I would assume those are inconsequential compared to the health & wellness benefits you’ve shared in this video. I’ve heard of inexpensive small portable washing machines that are made for tiny spaces that might be an option for washing your clothes during the winter months. You can hang dry above your wood burner as well. I loved seeing the harvest from your garden & would have to agree there is nothing better than home grown foods! ~ All the best my friend! ❤

The biggest problem about that though, is that I really shouldn't spend any more money... Daniel, I have grown to love your channel, it is wonderful in so many different ways. Absolutely Charming. The main charm is that you are so natural and surrounded by beauty. I admire your choices. You seem to be coping very well indeed and are totally relaxed and at peace with your life. You look radiant. Make sure you are prepared for the Winter to come, I look forward to your future videos. I love blueberries and blueberry jam, Can you post the spelling for that washing product please? Clothes dried outside smell wonderful and fresh and the freshness stays with the clothes a long time. You want a dehumidifier but they are expensive to run. Fog is mysterious and magical I agree. You could possibly in the future look into the feasibility of a toilet that uses coconut bricks as a medium. There are two Dutch guys on KZbin who live in a van who use that method inside the van . Just a suggestion.

Hey Daniel, I'm catching up with your latest videos right now, got two more to watch!😊 Thank you for sharing your new life with us and also some of the "negatives" and struggles that come with it, it makes it really authentic. Growing my own food is also one of my dreams, unfortunately I don't have a garden, but growing some tomato plants in pots this year was a first success. Lately, I dream of homesteading someday, I want to grow lots of food and have all kinds of animals around me and just take care of everything every day... I hope I can live this way someday, but right now, I don't see the next steps to move towards my dream life, feeling quite lost again, not knowing how to get there 😐 I hope it's "just" mold in your basement, but even that can be such a pain to deal with. I speak from own experience, because I have a basement apartment in an older house, and mold forms quite easily here, I had just found some small spots in the corners of my bedroom and the kitchen 😢 I guess it has just been too moist from the many weeks of constant rain we had here... And now that it's getting much colder, with the first frost and snow the next days (quite early for where I live, even if it will melt away again and be mixed with rain), I can feel the cold leaking in if I put my hand on the window and door frames 🙈 I'm getting really excited about seeing snow here as well for the first time and I hope it will motivate me to pick up filming again, I have not been well enough for it lately, very difficult times. I have the same fascination with puddles and their reflections, this was so relatable haha 😂 I always stop and watch them too!! I will watch your other new videos now as well, I already saw in the title that you met Jonna Jinton, which is so amazing!! Also, I'm so happy to see how much your channel has grown in the last months❤

Just having experienced fall here where I live, I can appreciate what beauty you are showing us. The colors here are not as brilliant as what you have, mostly due to the types of trees we have. I did however see more color this past weekend, where I sold art at a festival and was outside to feel the brisk air. I can’t wait to get back home though, and get into my studio so I can be warm again. You seem to have a grasp of natural beauty, and capture it on film very well! Some images are inspiring to me as an artist, and makes me want to paint those scenes. Even the shots with you in them are lovely as well. You should be proud that you compliment nature when you are together. Ah the bad things we have to do in life. I may make a suggestion…add sawdust to your outhouse every time you go. It helps reduce the smell, and also covers the stuff that is not pleasing to the eyes. The sawdust helps with composting too, which will reduce the look and smell of the waste. As I’ve said before, I’m not a huge fan of the cold, but I love the snow, and I have embraced the fall this year because life has been changed for me. I look at things much different from last year, and it has helped me with so much that every day is special. The fact that you have taken on this new life, with its positive notes, as well as the not so positive moments, is a testament to your character. You seem content, happy, and full of life. That is something special. Oh and as for the potatoes, it has been said that gathering all the potatoes at once, then putting them in a cool dry place will keep them from rotting. If left in the soil, they may rot quicker. Just food for thought. Thank you for sharing, as you know I am a fan of your videos, and enjoy what you show us. Keep up the good work! Be well!❤❤

I'm so lucky! 💕 How amazing wouldn't it be if you painted from some of my scenes! Wow! Haha! ☺️ Yes, I've been thinking about something like sawdust actually! That's definitely something I'll have to look into! Oh, I'm so glad to hear that you have a more positive view this year! What has changed, making you look at things differently? Ugh, I keep hearing different things about the potatoes! Some say like you, some say they're best stored in the soil! I guess I'll just have to see and figure that out myself, since so many say different things! 😂 Thank you for your input, though! 💕 As usual, thank you so much for watching!! Wishing you a wonderful, beautiful fall! ❤️

@@DanielErik Yes I see a lot of scenes that inspire me to paint, even a few with you in them. Would always want approval before I do anything like that. Yes, the art show went well and very productive! It’s wonderful to hear loving comments about my art, but better still that they buy my art too. The potatoes issue is somewhat a controversy, so yes try what works best for you. There is nothing better than finding out the best way to do something, then have it do what you intended! The reason my outlook on life is different, is because almost a year ago I wound up in hospital, and died three times and was brought back to life. Now every moment is precious to me, and I just feel like I want to be in the moment instead of letting life pass me by. I didn’t know dying would cause me to live that much more! I’m for sure going to enjoy fall, and I hope you enjoy your new life as well. Remember that it is best shared with someone special. ❤️❤️

Hello Daniel, my first question is about the house. Is it winterized , do you have a plan if you loose power, what about getting food , if you are snowed in? Do you access solar power? I really want you to be safe. Your videography is quite good, I’m always transported, when I watch your videos. I have another question, it’s about Stockholm. I saw on line , that there is a big problem with migrant gangs. So much so , that they are calling in the military to bring order. They even said ,they will begin to deport migrant gang members. Have you heard this , or experienced any problems. Stay safe & warm , Mr Viking. ❤
@DanielErik
@DanielErik Жыл бұрын
Were good questions! The house itself is winterized, and the few times I've been up here during earlier winters, it has felt like the house hold the warmth pretty good! I hope I can say that after this winter too! 😅 However, the barn is not winterized! So all the water in the barn will freeze. And that will make it MUCH harder for me when it comes to laundry, taking a shower etc! I do not have solar, that's an investment I might do if I ever buy my own house (since this is my parents). And I buy quite a lot of groceries when I'm near a store, so I can last quite a while if I would get snowed in! ☺️❄️ Thank you so much, it warms my heart to hear that I can transport you somewhere else through my videos! ❤️ About the gangs... Yes, it's true that we have huge problems with that right now. Basically, there's two gangs in war with each other. However, I do not agree with what some are saying, about it being immigrants fault. What I see, is a welfare state that is slowly but steadily being defunded. We have lowered the taxes here for decades now, and let the school suffer because of it. A few decades ago, Sweden had the best school in the world. And this is not something I'm just saying, every major study about different countries school system said that Swedens school system was the best. Both because the education itself, but also because the school were able to see which kids could potentially go down a bad path. And then the schools helped that kid back on track. Today, our school system can't do that to the same extent anymore. This is because they don't have enough money anymore, because of the lowered taxes. So this is, at least partly, a "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" problem. When these kids don't see any future, they start leaning towards a criminal career. This usually do happens for immigrants, yes. Because they are often poor to begin with. A few decades ago, we had a society that helped them on the right track. But those systems have now been drastically defunded. However, this is a very complex question with several different answers. This is definitely not the only one, there's many more that could and should be discussed. But that would be a way too long comment! 😅 But from what I can see, this is one of the major problems to why we now have problems with gangs. I hope my answer makes any sense! 😂 Wishing you a wonderful new week! 🥰

That's a really good question that I don't have a good answer to! 😂 I can only speak for myself, and the water in the kitchen doesn't freeze because the pipes are borrowed so deep underground, and then goes up through our basement. And it's always around +3°C down there, all year, due to the heat from earth. That's why it's not freezing here! The water in the barn however, freezes very easily!
