Certified floor cleaner here: run floor scrubber with squeegee up and let the soap sit on and make a few passes then reduce water and squeegee to dry.

If you use two passes when cleaning, one with dispensing soap and scrubbing and the next with squeegee and scrubbing it cleans alot better. Takes more time, but its worth it.

I work for a dealership and we got one of those floor cleaners in our workshop but slightly different. To get the best out of it and make the squeegee last a bit longer, I go over the floor once with the water on, the scrubber on and the squeegee up and then go over it again with the water off, scrubber on and the squeegee down so that it doesn’t rub on the dry dirty floor. Makes a huge difference.

The scrubbing pads for those are standard sizes and grits. Depending on what you're cleaning you may want a grittier pad on there. You can get a different scrubber style (looks like a big T) that can take the same size pads and is great for corners are really tight places. Floor wax is really easy to put down too for something like the showroom! -I waxed floors for a couple summers

You can also get different pads/brushes for that machine. I remember using it, they have rough pads to get grime off and soft ones for polishing. And a brush for just general use.

We use those at work and we leave the squeegee up and just run over the area a few times with the cleaner running the brushes to loosen the dirt and then go over it with the squeegee down to suck it all up. Works great

Sometimes when I clean around our shop I'll leave the floor cleaner squeegee up and cover the whole floor with cleaning solution. Then you go back over it with the floor cleaner with squeegee down. On the second pass you can turn the water/solution off if you want. This way you give the cleaner more time to break up the dirt. Also you can use a sprayer with simple green and hit the floor first. I have seen bleach work pretty good to.

Tip on the floor scrubber leave the squeegee up and go over the floors adjusting the water as needed let the cleaner soak In while making multiple passes then use the squeegee to vacuum it up. I have tons of time on many factory cats units.

On the epoxy floor you can use the gnarliest degreaser you can find. Also, if you haven’t used the scrubber on an area in a while, run with the squeegee up, scrub head down and water in high first to wet a large areas and let the product sit on the floor plenty wet for 5 minutes, then run over it with the vacuum on and the water on low or off with the scrub head down. This is called a “double scrub” and will get the best results. Have fun! FYI they make “micro-riders” that are not much bigger than the wall behind. Def not as cheap as the walk behind you picked up, but much easier to get large areas done.

We have those scrubbers at work. The biggest thing I can tell you is to use the correct solution in the tank. You’re also going to want to make sure the squeegee is in good condition. Check the batteries as well as they have a tendency to corrode easily.

We used to screw around with the big floor scrubber when I was a tech at sears auto center. If you straddle it backwards it's like riding a bull when it spins around. Also tied together a bunch of shopping carts and pulled them with the scrubber like a train. (We had a lot of free time when we heard our location was closing) Btw floor buffers are also fun to stand on and spin really fast

Diamond pads would make that floor color pop. Dont know what youre using now but if its just a brush, it would make sense why it didnt clean as much as you expected. I used to clean the floors at Costco, and let me tell you. Switching to diamond pads make the floor appear 4-5 shades lighter in color, thats how good it cleaned.

Try some different pads on your floor machine too! We use a black pad on one of ours to literally strip the wax off vinyl floors. 3M makes a ton of different pads including a Scotch-Bright surface prep pad, but I think their Blue cleaner pad 5300 would be a good all around cleaning pad for that machine.
