I actually own a tortoise myself, her name is RubyBob. We first thought she was a dude so names her Bob but later find out her ding dong wasn't there so naturally needed to change her name. Bob had to stay though thus RubyBob was born. She's a little older but is also in love with dandelions. I got a tortoise recently called brigadier bump he is 10 and we rescued him from people who fed him McDonalds. Over the past 3 months i have learnt a lot about tortoises and there are a few things i think you should know.Firstly, because their digestive system is so slow fruit isn't a very good food for them as it can rot in their stomach, the same goes for veg. The other thing is male tortoises have a very high sex drive so people recommend that you have 3 females per male otherwise the females will die of to much sex. they can get depressed and just stop eating. Other than that I'm sure you are clued in about it but for any other things you may need/want to know just get in touch and i can either tell you if i know or direct you to my "tortoise club" sounds lame but go with it. I hope you Herbert and Doris have lots of fun .
