I worked in a dealership and we were forever renewing the Differential Pressure Sensors in the DPFs on our diesels. The sensor measures the inlet and outlet pressures of the Diesel Particulate Filter and informs the ECU so it knows when to regenerate. If it fails the DPF doesn't know where it stands so it throws out a warning message.

It's honestly not a surprise Bruce, New Trucks / Buses typically go through a break in period where all the bugs need to be worked out. It doesn't change no matter the company. I don't drive truck, I drive School Bus, Thomas bus ( Freightliner ) I got a 22 bus this year, been in the shop more often then my 2018 bus I was driving cause all the stuff that needed to be worked out on it.
@petermcbilt5942 жыл бұрын
It’s not bugs that need to be worked out it’s the emission system and it will never stop needing to be worked out. You will never stop replacing sensors as long as you own the vehicle. My 2015 Peterbilt has been in the shop more times than I can count and I honestly can’t remember if there was ever a time it wasn’t related to the Government mandated emissions system. I get horrible fuel mileage more downtime and you’ll never get 1,000,000 miles out of these motors like you used to. My 97 Peterbilt with a N 14 Cummins was 10 times more reliable and more fuel efficient. Just imagine how efficient and reliable diesel engines would be today if the government would stay the hell out of our lives. OK I got that off my chest. I’m done venting 😊
