Great thing about them years of the Monte Carlo Malibu Cutlass and Buick Regal you could pull the fan Shroud and fan radiator water pump and change the cam in them throw the good ol crane cam in it that is what was popular through the 80s it would change the rumble in the exhaust and then it would make you want to put the dual Flowmaster exhaust on it and head to the track

Nice find my dude. My High School GF had a 76 Malibu, I just bought a 73 Malibu and when I got it home I sent her a picture of it, I think she's more excited for me to get it done, the interior is done, the engine isn't a fresh rebuild but it's been rebuilt within the last 5 years, it just needs a paint job. It's Dark Red with a Black vinyl top and I'm just going to repaint it the original color although I'm not a fan of Red because the interior is already done and it's Dark Red and Black, I don't really mind the color and it will grow on me. The only thing I haven't decided is if I'm going to put the Vinyl top back on.

Thanks, I appreciate it. 73 is actually my favorite. I had one that was green with only 55000 original miles when I got it. The round taillights just make it unique. Because it was only one year. I know most people like the 72's and earlier. But there's something about the 73. Even the 76, it is pretty cool to me because I was born in 76. Lol

@@ezboyrc553 I agree, the 3rd Gen Malibu is my favorite as well, they just look better IMO, I was child then, born in 72, so the Mid-late 70's cars were my high school cars, I had a 76 Camaro in High School, My best had a 79 Nova, My Gf's best friend had a 74 or 75 Thunderbird, 95% or more maybe of the cars in my high school were mid-late 70's cars, there was the early-mid odd 60's car and the rich kids that had a new or newish car but the overwhelming majority was mid-late 70's cars because they were the hand-me-down or cheap used cars.

Thanks. I ended up changing those to some aluminum center lines. With wide tires in the back. I have newer videos of it on there. I've already had to put a transmission. Then I put a new Edelbrock intake & carburator.

@@ezboyrc553 the Edelbrock intake is a good choice and cabs are ok but I'm a quadrajet guy they are my fav carbs by far for milage and performance on the street don't get me wrong the old Carter aka Edelbrock are ok but never been a fan of square bore carbs at all no kick in the ass when you jump into it nothing moans like a q jet lol I always take the hei and make sure it's curved right bring that timing in early on a stock motor for sure and make sure your getting it to 35 deg total and don't even worry about base timing if it starts good and is happy base can be anything 25 deg even a curve kit will make a world of difference in something stock like that a good coil and good plugs and wires go a long way good parts make good motors a good q jet will get you 3 or 4 mpg more too due to the small primaries and the throttle response is amazing in comparison check it out I'm right been doing this a very long time and gms are my specialty loved rocket 350s and all that made them outrun a lot of so called built small block Chevy's that left a lot on the table by not doing anything w ignition timing they were dogs that had potential but what do I know lol
