My new project car! BMW E28 520i

Love seeing one get saved! The European models look so much better without the “diving board” bumpers we got here in the USA. Looks like a solid car to start with overall and the color is gorgeous. My first car was an E28 and I’ve had one since I got my license over 30 years ago. Such amazing cars. Hello from Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

Just love e28’s. I can’t even remember how many of them I’ve had. Everyone from 518 to M535. Only one missing is the M5.

Loopt als het spreekwoordelijke zonnetje! De auto ziet er al goed uit vanaf een afstand. Hopelijk valt de roest mee op eventuele dragende delen. Mooi two tone interieur ook met een extra luxe high executive individual achterbank:) Maak er wat moois van!

All things considered, your BMW is in really good shape for its age. This looks like a fun project!

That generation 5-series has grown on me, didn't really think much of them like 25 years ago, but they're quite cool now. Lowered 20-30mm I think it could look really nice even with the stock rims. With that age of car and the amount of visible rust I'd seriously consider stripping it down entirely to find all hidden rust and doing a proper repair. First video I've seen from you, but being a Honda-boi I'm definitely going to check out the CRX series.

The 82 bmw was definitely due to a gas infiltration lol the evidence, it gave some hard times trying to get it started the first time. I enjoyed the sneak peak of your cars collection garage tho, hard work pays off 😁😉❤️🔥✨💯

You got me jalous; it's my favourite gen; it looks so amazing from every angle. And it's still all analogue and lightweight. Hope you stick to the original - or at least model appriopiate - color when repainting; just a simple wash made it look 20 years younger !!! And it purred when it came to life ❤

Consider updating the fuse box to the newer style fuses(there is a kit you can buy), the old tube fuses are nothing but problems. M20 is a fantastic engine. These e28s are TANKs. The Style 32 wheels from the E39 540i the staggered wheels look amazing on this if you wanted to go OEM+. Just need to get hub ring adapters so they fit properly.

It is OK to have a BMW in a Honda garage. Both brands makes excellent engines. For decades, BMW and Honda had the same importer and shared dealerships here in Sweden.

Well idk how it works there, but if you drive car to mot where i am, you have to pay for mot, insurance and all that and to start restoration after that and have registered car that is being restored for some time, i believe it wont be done in month or two is just waste of money imho. After you restore it is more logical to me to do mot. During restoration you will dismantle it anyway and see what is to be replaced
