The landscapes and diversity of features in Oregon is incredible! Thanks for sharing it through your great videos. I was scheduled to visit the US in September 2020 with my family to meet up with American friends for a hiking and touring adventure focussed on Oregon, Washington, and northern California. Your videos confirm that Oregon is definitely a place we will enjoy! I especially love the high desert areas and the scenery in today's video reminded me so much of an area we used to live in the Northern Territory here in Australia. As an aside, the section of you searching for the horse followed by the long distance stand-off, reminded me of No Country for Old Men 😅

Thanks for taking us along Casey, that was a fun trip! Congratulations on flipping the rollback, ...well, not FLIPPING it, but re-selling it...you know what I mean... BTW, the mic with the wind buffer on it could be sold as a retro 70's macho chest hair piece for furless fellows. I'm not sure what the market on that would be these days, but it could be a thing. Maybe. -ish.

We have a quite a few wild horses here in Nevada. The ones near town are more likely ones that were owned and released because some of them will come right up cars... We also have similar desert landscape. When I moved here I learned the desert is just as beautiful as the forest. You just have to look closer.

lone wild mustang is not odd at all. There are alot of single stallions roaming alone. You will find he is a stallion that has been kicked out of a herd by the senior stallion. Eventually he will try to steal a heard from some senior stallion. He won't harm you

A Roll back is better, Oh don't you know? But don't go however and stay outa the snow. And so the Roll back car getter, he did outgrow, for he's a trend setter, and drives on the plateau... So with a wheel lift he met her, for stuck she was so. And with her in a cute sweater, that she surely did sew... And so with 4x4 he did get her, through the mud he did tow; and then he wed her, gave her a daughter to show! God bless you Casey, and family!

You don't need to worry too much about a wild horse, BUT, the wild burros are another animal all together. They will chase you with the intention of hurting you, especially is they have young. There are always a few around Denino. Wild horse trails are super fun on a dirt bike. The trails are wide and smooth. 3 to 4 times as wide as a cow trail. When I lived in Nevada, I went on a lot of wild horse trails on my XT600. Thanks for the video. If you ever get the chance check out the Alvord desert. 50 miles north of Denino. It is a dry lake 15 miles long and 7 miles wide, and just as flat as a table.

The works of nature should never be in the hands of one individual. It should be available for all to explore and cherish. (Pillars of Rome)! Your approach to work is refreshing. I thought so many around your age is seeking all that the almighty dollar has to offer. You just take life as it comes. I like the Jeep tows much better anyway. One thing you really need to think about (and I am sure you already have) is when buying used equipment you most likely are buying someone else's problem... Which can be either good or bad... might be able to invest some $ and time and make a tidy profit, or it might end up costing way more than economically feasible and you end up losing $..... My family's motto is "if it aint broke, don't buy it".... (make more $ that way, lol)
@davidwoermansr3 жыл бұрын
The main reason he found that rollback for sale was in California the emissions conversion done to that truck to make it legal were no longer legal and it was cheaper to buy a new truck than to put a new engine trany and computer system requiring all the gauges and stuff inside the cab updated and since it could still pass Oregon inspection buying it cheap made perfect sense the only problem the previous owner had was with the emissions laws not the truck itself

Do you remember the movie "Curly's Gold" where he spots a horse and trails it a short distance thinking its all alone and then all the sudden he is in the middle of a stampede and the herd overcomes them starting a stampede of their cattle on this drive??? One of the funniest scenes in this movie. From one horse to hundreds of horses almost killing everyone according to the film. I laughed so hard at that scene. Billy Crystal and Jack Valence plus many other actors... or in the day of good movies. No science fiction.. If I were you flipping tow trucks, I would look at topographics and see where needed most to get the most out of what you have as you always stumble into other machines that didn't make it there but say in pipe line country it would be a hit and get some travel time in ... just saying

What is the capacities of the trucks? I would have expected the roll back to have a higher capacity. Though that was a very smart way to do it and find what's best for your business.
@CaseyLaDelle3 жыл бұрын
The bed on the rollback is rated for 15,000 pounds, and the truck can handle it just fine, but no matter what it's rated for it can still legally only weigh 26,000 pounds total, and since most all rollbacks in this size class weigh in the 17-18k pound range, that leaves a very small load capacity for the size truck they are.

Fun video. Pro videography tip: The motion in your videos looks jittery/jerky because your camera's shutter speed is very fast. This happens with video shot in bright daylight because the light is too bright for the shutter speed you need to use to capture natural looking smooth motion. (For natural smooth video motion capture, you should follow the 180 degree shutter rule and only use a shutter speed that is 1/2 your frame rate: 1/60 sec shutter speed if your frame rate is 1/30 sec.) The easiest way to fix this is to add an ND (neutral density) filter to your video camera lens. These are gray tinted pieces of glass that dim the exposure down in bright daylight so that you can use a slower video shutter speed. This will work even in a fully automatic exposure mode on the camera because the camera auto settings will respond to the ND filter by using a slower shutter speed that captures natural motion blur. Here's a video that explains this better: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6bYlH9satKDrLM
