I have also bought many many slides over the past 40 years but I always return to my 11/16 Craftsman deep well socket from back in the 1980's it has just the right weight and balance on the one end where you would put the socket wrench on . I love the deep tone I get from it on both my electric and National Steel bodied guitars . It just works for me . I wish someone would market one just like that . Your slide looks like a great idea and I hope you sell a million of them . Thanks

If it will give me 1/10th of Dylan's slide ability, I'll buy one for every finger on my left hand! Congrats Dylan...I have several Rock Slides, but will check one of these out as well.

First: congrats, sir!! Well deserved! Second: Dammit, dude!!! I just bought my first Rock Slide a month before you released this! Guess if I'm gonna use slide more I might need two and get yours. Hated the glass slide I had for 20 yrs, never used, and gave it away. But thanks to you I'm looking at a short slide solo section in a song for the first time in my band's 15 yrs at a bigger festival this year.

Just got mine...I had one of the older ones with the groove and single cut and it's a good slide, but your signature slide is definitely an improvement in design...Love it!

I'm just learning to play slide after 40-some-odd years of playing, but if I stick with slide I'll have to pick one of these up. Local shop has a Rock Slide display. Wonder if they'll have these on it now? Congrats on the new design.

I ordered mine yesterday. I'll tell you what I think when it arrives. But I resonated with the "skinny pinky" problem. I feel like the standard small one sits in too deep and it feels uncomfortable to crook my finger. Just yesterday I was sticking paper inside to keep it tight a few inches before my knuckle and make it more comfortable. I hope yours will sit better 🤞. In any event, congratulations on your first signature piece! Wishing you the best and many more to come!

Thanks man!! Agreed on the Ariel, too heavy for me. The Joey is slightly lighter than the Ariel but still on the heavy side, mine’s quite a bit lighter than either one

congrats! I was wondering if it would have (ring) finger relief on both sides as the bottom can go two ways, but I waited, and all was explained. 😀 I am happy for your success. I guess you never need to play full chords because you play in Standard tuning and there really aren't any to play unless you're in some kind of Open tuning. I think.

Hi Dylan how would you compare the feel and inside diameter to the Dunlap 212 or E.B. Comfort Slide (small) to your slide? Thanks!
@CrazyLazyDave6 ай бұрын
I ordered one. Ordered Ariel and Joey's too. Ordered their's from Amazon because cheaper and free shipping. But....The Rock should know you triggered my purchase of all 3. We'll see what I prefer. Probably will like something about them all. Next time Rhett. Next time.
@LakeDaisy6 ай бұрын
Hi Dylan. Thanks for the update. Therockslide site says to measure your knuckle, which is 18.5mm on my pinky. Your slide is 16.5mm. But you don't slide the slide over your knuckle. 16.5 seems like it would be okay sliding up to my knuckle. What do you think about this. Thank you, Rob
@dylanadamsguitar6 ай бұрын
It could work, but there’s a good chance the slide will stop well before your knuckle, which may or may not be comfortable for you. It fits me with just enough wiggle room to be able to slip the whole slide over my finger if I wanted to, but I intentionally bend my finger to kind of “lock it in” and have it sit right at the knuckle. If you try it and it doesn’t fit then you should be able to return/exchange with The Rock Slide no problem!

Congratulations. As I sit here watching your vid I am looking at 8 different slides on my desk. I've tried a lot (lots more than that over the years) and never found "the perfect one". At the moment I use mostly the Airiel Posen (ball end) model. But its not perfect. I wish the walls were a bit thicker. My best sounding slide is a Jim Dunlop flared end brass slide. I love the sound and the flare shape but it is a too heavy for a pinky slide. I need something lighter. How does the thickness/weight of your slide compare to the Ariel Posen one (which is also a Rock Slide product). They don't really describe wall thickness on the web site. Yours is a bit shorter and a bit smaller inner diameter, but I'm curious about the wall thickness.
@dylanadamsguitar6 ай бұрын
Hard to say what the wall thickness is compared to the Ariel since his has the closed end, but I can tell you mine is quite a bit lighter since it’s shorter, slightly smaller diameter, and doesn’t have the extra weight of the ball end. Mine still has enough weight feel to feel solid and have good tone/sustain, but is a lot more maneuverable in my opinion!
@donald-parker6 ай бұрын
@@dylanadamsguitar Thanks for the quick response. I get that you can't see thickness at the ball end but I was wondering about the open end. I need a fairly heavy slide so I get a clear sound without pushing the strings too hard (because I use 9's - I need light gauge strings to help accommodate some left hand RSI issues). But if it is too heavy it's hard to maintain a light touch with a pinky slide. Does that make sense? I have always found "the lighter the slide, the more pressure you need on the strings" whereas a heavy slide gives a super clear tone with the lightest of touches.
