I had a p38 for 6 years they are excellent off road just don't fill the car with water as the computers are under the seats. They are a beast. Look for these guys on You tube "Off-road Turkiye"

Great engine thinking of putting a M57 into my 90. One of Rotorua land rover enthusiasts club members had a P38 and it was well waterproofed as on one of our trips he was charging around in the river more than anyone without a splutter, but that was probably 8 or 9 years ago.

I own a 2002 4.6L P38 HSE and absolutely love it. Having that BMW diesel is badass! The front bumper looks to be Terrafirma. Those Terrafirma 16x7 wheels are expensive too. Overall I'd say it's a very nice Rover! 🤩

Make sure your door seals are good because only a tiny bit of water can wreck the computer under the drivers seat. My dad and I have had to replace it twice getting stuck in bog holes. We had a 4.5l v8 I don't know if you still have one with the diesel engine.

Great buy mate! That NZ scenery too!! That engine sounds like the one they are using in the Ineos Grenadier.
@Robdutton912 жыл бұрын
It’s the same basic engine but guessing from the 200hp title of the vid they’re using the original M57 from the e39s and e46s. The Grenadier will have the more modern unit which is capable of 300hp and 500lbft with just a tune, so even more of a monster

I have a P38, and I have an M57, and I have a 4HP24 with the 065 designation, and I have an adapter plate from Ashcroft to go between the engine and the autobox, and I have a compushift to control the 4HP24 I spent a lot of money on all those bits, but I'm still missing some things. Like the sump for the engine. Would love to know what the guy used for the sump, and also what he use to control the 4HP24, is it still using the factory ECU? I think the sump and the autobox are the sticky bits where people get stuck.

m57 would have a bit more than 200hp i reckon, maybe 260hp and 420ft lbs stock. wonder what those number are to all four wheels. with a tune those engines make about 50-100 more.
