although as a little tip only in your best interest, and watching thousands of youtube videos and just getting a general sense of the yt algo, I think the next time you do another daily routine, maybe call it something else: I suggest what worked before " day in the life of a software engineer " then add your own spin like you usually do, regardless, loved it :D

Something about coding and code reviews would be good - minute 4 was good on this in this video ✅. Always seems that software guys talk about routines and food lol - is interesting but doesn’t really have anything to do with their actual work.
@yourfriendintech2 жыл бұрын
I can't go into details due to confidentiality, but I do talk about what I'm actually doing in a general way. In this video I talk about coding, code reviews, helping new people on the team set up their development environment, user experience research, how I manage my time, how I stay organized, how to communicate with the team, why it's important to prioritize tasks..

End the day with a clean desk, rather than leaving this to the next day… reason do bed in the morning is so it’s fresh upon your return ?
@yourfriendintech2 жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense. For me, I prefer cleaning my desk at the start of the day to help transition into "work mode." I think having these routines is helpful especially when working from home because the boundaries of work/life can get blurry.
@AmsNl2BcnEs2 жыл бұрын
Definitely. It’s a case of whatever works and gives value to you. A lot of people have introduced virtual commutes since lockdown, be that a more detailed routine or simple acts like a mini walk around the block at the start and end of the day.

Do you enjoy your life as a software engineer? Is it stressful working in google?
@yourfriendintech2 жыл бұрын
I do enjoy my life as a software engineer. I am able to flex both my creative and technical skills, there's a ton of benefits like working from home, and it pays really well so that I can afford the life that I want to live. Working at Google can be stressful sometimes (like any other company), but generally its very manageable.
