You’re so productive when you go home. I literally come home, shower and pass out as soon as my head hits my pillow 😂

I change clothes at work and put work scrubs in a bag and leave my work shoes in car. I don’t even chance walking into my house with my germy scrubs. Then as soon as I get home, I shower and change into clean lounging clothes. I’ve been doing this even pre-Covid because I don’t want to bring any hospital germs home with me. I call it my decontamination routine haha. I love how your dog cuddles with you in bed! That’s awesome that he can hold it in for your whole shift. I have to hire a dog walker to come in the middle of my shift to walk mine cause plus my commute he would have to hold it for 14 hours!

12 hour shift, 2 hour commute, 1 hour of getting ready is already 15 hours. plus 8 hours of sleep equals 23 hours...so you only have 1 hour left to eat, bathe and do other things? I know you get 4 days off but...

@@islandbaby4704 wow. with an office job i can see how not sleeping 8 hours is okay but nursing is physically, mentally and emotionally exhausting!!! i hear many nurses say they pass out after work lol. but whatever everyone is different!!

1234566 just so you know, not all nurses work 12 hr shifts, and the ones that do don’t have to work consecutive days. You can work one on and one off, etc. So it really all depends on the individual’s situation. But, yes it definitely is a very demanding job for sure!

My shoes get sprayed and stay in my trunk in a shoebox. I often taken it out and put it in sunlight. My trunk get sprayed often too and yes I take off scrubs at the hospital. The front side of my car or my house can not see germs.

I’m currently doing my post night shift routine 😂 I shower right when I get home, eat a quick breakfast while watching a KZbin video, and then go to sleep.

I appreciate you sharing your routine with us. I have a similar routine minus the breakfast, cuz I just can't wait to go to bed. I guess the only thing that made me think "oh no", was the clean running water that was draining down while not being used during dishwashing time. I will turn off whatever I am not using immediately. I'm convinced that we won't always have clean water and that we must be good stewards of it when we can. Thanks again! Love your pup!

At the entrance of the door where the work shoes do, I always put those scrubs a separate 🧺. Never track my clothes in the house.

My family and I wash our dishes after we eat/use them too. It saves time later. The only time we don’t wash them immediately is if they need to be soaked.

I’m an EMT, and I also work night shift, I get home and take off my pants and shirt and leave them in a basket we have by the door, and then I leave my boots their too, I lysol them though, I got that from an early Nurse Nook video 😉 I always wear a tank under my work shirt because we wear white button ups and in the hospital lights they are basically see through, so when I take everything off I leave my tank on and walk around the house in that until I take my shower and change into PJ’s.
