Most people don’t realize that the flight attendants don’t get paid until the cabin door is closed and you start to push back. It amazes me to hear people give them a hard time (not Adam !) when the flight is late as if the attendants can control that!

I build the engines for Spirits A320Neo fleet. I believe your Tail number of your bird was N949NK. Knew right away by the sound that it was a NEO 😂. The engines are Pratt Whitney PW1100s out of West Palm Beach. Have fun ATW!✈️🛫

Welcome to Cleveland! The tower that was lit up green is called Terminal Tower (or refered to as Tower City Center or just Tower City). The lights on the tower change (sometimes daily) depending on national holidays and events that are occurring around Cleveland. For example, 4th of July it lights up red white and blue, if the one of the sports teams win a game, it lights up with the team colors.

Hey Adam I talked to you and Ryan in Airport at gate, that was a horrible experience. We were suppose to fly to Orlando week of Hurricane and had to change and Spirit would not refund or change our flight had to eat cost of 1st flight. Never again! But it was great to meet you!

The "old-timy" part of the mower is called a reel mower. You can buy them as a riding mower and even zero turn mower. They use them on golf courses and pro & college sports fields. They get a very smooth, clean cut. It's basically like using scissors or a machete to cut your hair.

I have flown SPirIT one time and one time only. In 1999 I drove from Columbus to Detroit to fly the airline to LAX non-stop, for $90 round trip. Not a bad deal. Well, our flight from Detroit was four hours late leaving with no explanation. To top it all off, they forgot to book me my flight back to Detroit so I had to spend over a grand to fly home on another airline. All I got in return from Sprit was an offer for a discounted one-way to another city. No thanks. Never again. Welcome to the Buckeye State! Sorry your trip started off so lame. Thanks for the countless experiences. Been wacthing for a few years now and have no plans on stopping anytime soon. Keep being you!

Have you thought about siging up for TSA Pre-Check? It costs $80, but lasts for 5 years. I would think as much as you travel, it would be a MAJOR timesaver for you. Just something to consider...

Well at least he didn't use duct tape! My worst experience cuz back in the day they used to load the plane from tail to nose a passenger went into the bathroom. As we were taxi-ing down the runway that said passenger came out of the bathroom and tried to get back to his seat that was not assigned they gave it away because they thought it wasn't taken. The plane lost brakes trying to stop and the brakes had to be fixed on the tarmac at LAX not a happy camper back then I took care of race horses and I was trying to take a red eye to get back to the track so I could feed them breakfast on time that didn't happen they were some hungry hippos when I got back to the track but Spirit did give me a lot of credit and refunded my flight. But I still will not ever take them again!

Mechanical issues aside (that happens to ALL airlines at times), if you prepare you will save $. 2 minutes looking at the bag policy email they send would have saved that $100. So many people complain about paying for coffee etc. on cheaper airlines, but I always get cheap fares with spirit and frontier to MCO. Totally worth saving over a hundred bucks pp and buying the $3 cup of coffee.

Adam, I know all about a delayed takeoff. My first flight my dad and I took to the Orlando Airport we had to change planes in Dallas from San Antonio and our plane was not working properly and was delayed well over an hour and a half before we took off for Orlando. Only problem was we had an Astros Spring Training game to attend in Lakeland, Florida that night All this took place in late March of 2005. We did arrive about 30 minutes or so late to the game but still had a great time. Hope you had a great time in Cleveland despite the Rays loss 2-1. Safe travels home for you two!

I am here to defend Spirit (never thought I would say that) As long as you understand the Spirit way of doing things, most processes work well. Spirit goes out of it’s way in the ticketing process to explain what things costs. So, if you understand and read the pages as you buy your ticket, it goes smoothly. I cant, however, speak for how they handle delays.

I’ll never understand why people subject themselves to spirit. Spend the extra $50 on a real airline because spirit will get it out of you somehow. Whether it’s through bag fees or whatever, or having to buy multiple meals in the airport. $50 is nothing compared to the misery you’re guaranteed on spirit. Let’s not even get into the seats…

If it was only $50 extra to fly with a real airline. From Memphis to Colombia it’s about a $300 flight with spirit and then with Delta or American. It’s around $600. a little more than $50. But I’m sure if you have to spend five hours straight On a plane. You’d like for it to be enjoyable as possible.

All in all, looks like you had a nice stay in Orlando and a good flight back to Cleveland. I have been stuck in traffic jams in LA and in Miami that were longer than your delay. These things happen. The crews at Spirit are top notch. Safety is number one and their record reflects that. Almost 800 flights a day says something too. The mechanical issue was resolved. The flight crew did the right thing. Spirit does NOT cut corners. The FAA views Spirit’s safety practices with high regard. Your comment on the lights coming on outside means that the jet was cleared in to the runway or to cross a runway-this is standard industry practice. All exterior lights come on for takeoff. This is also standard industry practice. The comment on the bag not being checked as you boarded and if you could have gotten it on without paying the set fee incurs a comment too. The gate agents can see your boarding pass and zone information. This is how they “see” that a bag was paid for, or not. Like you, I too, like the Juan Valdez Coffee. Maybe I will see you on my next Spirit flight. I regularly fly Spirit to Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, Chicago and Las Vegas. I fly with them about twelve times a year all for personal and family reasons. “Catch the Spirit!” Used to be their TV advertisement years ago. Today, they do NO TV advertisement because the flights are already mostly full. Don’t just have a nice day, have a great day! 😎✌🏽
