Yes Cash Jordan showed this apartment on his channel. I'm just wary of ground floor apt. due to security concerns and that apt. can easily be accessed by climbing wall by front door. Also, the noise level will be an annoyance because people are heading toward the 59th street bridge. The interior is really nice though and the fireplace is cute. definitely check out Cash.

Yes, that is also what I am a bit worried about - that the apartment is on ground floor. The noise didn't seem too bad on that street but a little closer to the East side and I am sure I would be bothered by the FDR. I will definitely check out more of Cash Jordan's videos, thanks :)

1550 is a really really good deal for Manhattan. I paid 1460 for a 400 Square foot apartment in Portland, Oregon. People keep mentioning that they pay this and that in other cities but that’s the thing. Prices differ everywhere. People pay for location.

I would avoid ground floor or 1st floor apartments! It's known to be easier for bugs and rodents :( I had a bad experience and will never rent on that floor again.

The biggest drawback is that room is way too small (and I think why it’s not been rented). You’d be living pretty cramped when you can pay 300-400 more and get twice the space in Brooklyn. Yeah, I know you’re paying for that location but Brooklyn is 30 mins from midtown anyway

There's nothing sketchy. There are thousands of apts available that are much larger that are just as inexpensive so why rent that small apt when you can rent a larger one for a few hundred more? Is what's happening. It's a cute apt though.

this apartment looks good! my only worry is being the first floor for someone to break in...but honestly in Manhattan and in that area it would rarely happen because there's too many people walking around. My big concern though is being on the first floor is roaches and mice...

Especially with buildings that have been there for 100+ years. Unless the renovation that has been done is top notch with every nook and cranny sealed, the rodents and bugs will find a way.

Must be a Manhattan problem. I live in Astoria in a multi family house. We occupy basement, 1st and 2nd floor. Not a lot of crime in the area. Not saying there isn’t. Apparently our neighbors were robbed two years ago. But overall, not a huge worry. Unlike Manhattan, Queens is mostly houses so not a ton of empty buildings or units. If anything, I wish more would leave so rent can go down. Lol

The rona really did bring down the price, all the ppl that would have rented this apt are gone cuz there’s nothing in the city to do and the others that could work from home left nyc to a bigger a house. Native New Yorkers live in the outer borough where they can have an apt 2-3X the size for the same price. My only concern is once nyc starts to recover the land lords will jack up the price since these apt are not rent control....

I can honestly say I'm seeing the same trend here in LA. I started my apt hunting in August and to this day I see the same listings available. I've been to some of them and location definitely factors in, along with the current climate brought about by the pandemic. That said I did take my time before I finally committed to a place. You have stores train etc but that is way to much for a studio.. The bedroom should be Private.. it’s 1550$ because your in the first floor the higher floors are about 200$ less . and still to Expensive

Hi. I actually didn’t end up renting this place. At the moment I have a room in an apartment with roommates which definitely makes it a lot easier in terms of being international. The rules are so strict but it seems like brokers/supers are a little easier to negotiate with during covid.

A lot of people discouraging you for renting on the first floor, but TBH I’m just glad for you because you managed to score an apartment for that price. Any unit or apt will come with its own problems anyway, but it’s always gonna be up to the tenant on how they can make most out of their lease. Good luck and stay safe! Just an FYI...The street you mentioned where the apartment at is about two blocks down from a homeless shelter and Bellevue Hospital. Yup sketchy

I actually knew my comment will be twisted around lol so let me be clear. First of, come on down to NYC to the Kips Bay neighborhood at night and see this for yourself. Now I’m not knocking the good people that are homeless and are seeking help. I pray that things will turn out well for them. Its the one who abuse drugs and are aggressive is what I’m worried about. I’ve seen drug addicts and people with mental illness near or around the area. Just last week a women got sexually assault right in East 30th street. I’m just speaking facts.

Nice kitchen, but boy is that a small room. I guess if you did some kind of loft bed you might be able to make it work, but I don't know. And even though it might get light you would literally have to have the blinds or curtains closed 24/7 in order to have any kind of privacy.

That is the only way, a loft bed and no heavy cooking since the clothes are in the kitchen.

Your neighborhood is referred to as Murray Hill, and don’t be terribly concerned, it’s actually a very good neighborhood. The building is beautiful, the updates are good, and I would just recommend getting ‘top down bottom up’ shades so no one can see in but you can get light and see out - enjoy!

COVID price. Lol Rents have definitely been reduced significantly in Manhattan. A lot of families have moved out to the burbs or nearby boroughs for more space.

I like this apartment I believe Cash Jordan showed it on his channel for price in New York not bad as a single female I never want bottom floor apartments I feel safer up higher and noise levels tend to be lower on upper floor.

That is a super nice apartment....but very small. It seems difficult to furnish it. I feel a Murphy bed would be necessary. It is really nice, though.

@@ByJenni I'm addicted to watching NYC studio apartment tours, and Murphy beds are used in a ton of them in order to maximize space in small studios. And they help to make studios feel more like a home and not a dorm room when you're not sleeping.

@@ByJenni yeah I did the math later and realized it isn’t too absurd! In Houston you have to make at least 3x the rent amount monthly. Such a different world in NYC! I was able to buy a 1,500 sq ft house for less than $1,300 a month and pay about $1500 for the mortgage + utilities!
