Perfect video! Really liked how you explained each and everything in detail. You were fortunate enough to get a job on campus (better to have some bucks coming than doing nothing!). NEW SUBSCRIBER HERE!

Hii jenni! This has been a very informative video. I have a question regarding the post masters work opportunities. Does LIM help to secure job offers through any placement programs or do they help in the process? If you could give me any information regarding this it would be great. Thank you!

Hi ! My dream is to get into FIT college , I'm 16 now and living in Malaysia , which is very far from NYC , I'm just wondering can I straight away and apply into FIT right after I graduated ? Thanks !

Hi. That’s so cool! 🙌🏼 I am not entirely sure but I would think so. I would recommend reaching out to a tutor/career coach from that school. That helped me a lot back when I was considering applying

Hi Jenni! While submitting the application for a postgraduate course at LIM college, they have a section to upload a portfolio as well. Is it compulsory?
@ByJenni2 жыл бұрын
I know it wasn’t compulsory when I applied but if in doubt I would double check with the admissions office. Wishing you best of luck! :-)

Hello Jenny. Best wishes to you. What are your advices to a novice who will try to rent an apartment outside campus without any credit history, and employment history? We internationals seem to be at a disadvantage here.
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
This is definitely a tough one that we will face as international students unfortunately. Either you would have to have guarantors who can guarantee that they will pay your rent if your are suddenly unable to do so. Guarantors could be family members. There are also companies you can pay to act as guarantors but it’s usually an expensive solution. An easier advice would be to move in with roommates who meet the requirements for renting an apartment. You can find roommates through Facebook groups, gypsy housing and your school. Right now though, due to covid it is a bit easier to negotiate with broker and super so perhaps you can get away with no credit- and employment history at the moment if you can prove in other ways that you can pay your monthly rent. It is worth a try :-)

how do i pay for the tuition without debt by the end of every semester?

That’s a tough question to answer. I wrote a poster on my blog about how I saved up money before going and also found a good solution in terms of housing.

Hey jenni You are such a great person I’m from India and thinking to do my graduation abroad and also thinking to come to NYC. I’m a sportsperson and want to ask you that are there any sports benefits given my universities in NYC for international student.☺️
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nischay, Thank you for the kind words. That sounds really exciting. I think there could definitely be some benefits connected to you being a sports person but I am guessing it depends on the individual universities. I don't think that LIM did have any benefits related to sport but maybe the universities that offer programs within different sports may have. I would reach out to student counselors at the universities you are thinking of applying to. Best of luck with the process!

My goal is it to study law in nyc! I’m aware that you did not study law, but do you know anything about staying and working there permanently? Do I have chances to get a job there which sponsors me?
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
That's such a great question. Speaking from my own experience I am here now working after I graduated. I am here on an F-1 visa which allows me to have a work authorization for a year after I have graduated. After that I would have to have a company sponsor me with a H1B visa. This definitely seems more difficult in my field, but maybe law could be easier. Check if your degree is a STEM degree. That might give you some extra benefits in terms of getting a longer work authorization. I'm crossing my fingers for you 🤞🏼

Hi! I saw another international students video about the same master and she said she had problems with the optional training visa to stay there bc somehow the master wasn't probably accredited. Did you face any similar issues?
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I haven’t had a similar issue. I am here on F-1 visa. I used it when I was studying and it’s the same visa I use now to work here in the US for one year. So no issues so far ☺️ feel free to reach out if you have more questions

@@ByJenni Thank you!! That definitely calmed me down!
@theurvimehta3 жыл бұрын
Hi @claudia julia, I'm assuming you were referring to my LIM video here since I mentioned the MPS accreditation there. Just to clarify, I did not say I had a problem with the 'Optional Practical Training' Visa. The issue was with my H1B work visa which is different from the OPT visa, which I thought was important to mention since the OPT lasts for one year and after that you have the option to apply for a H1B 'work visa'. I've further clarified this on a pinned comment on my video as well. Hope this helps :)

Can u suggest some college under $12 tution fee which accept 2.28 CGPA
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
I have to say that I don’t know the exact tuition and criteria of other schools. I would suggest looking into the ones in the area you want to study in. Checking out the websites of every school may be a bit comprehensive but it’s probably the best way to find answers :-) also speaking with a student counselor may be helpful.

Please ensure me is there any college around new york i can admit with ielts score 5.5 as an international student.? & what would be cheapest for tuition fees.? Please reply me this will be very very helpful for me🥺
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
Hi Faisal. I honestly don’t know if there are. My best advice is to do the research and reach out to schools. Tuition is not cheap in NY, unfortunately so a payment plan may be preferable. Admission offices on the different schools will definitely help you answer those questions :) best of luck!

How can i afford living in NY and college as an international student all by myself
@ByJenni3 жыл бұрын
If you want to live on your own while studying my best advice is to save up as much money as you possibly can before you go. A more affordable option is living with roommates or getting a House&Board sponsor as I talk about in the video. I was fortunate to get a part-time job on campus which also helped me out financially. If you have CPT included in your visa then perhaps look for paid internships.
