Retractable awnings cannot support the weight of snow. A retractable roof is a much bigger job and even then, they are not used to hold back snow.

A great hack from my mother-in-law (yes, I know I'm that old, but hopefully not _that_ boring!) is to grab some masking tape and mark out the dimensions of the furniture on the floor. It gives a really good feel for how things will look in the space. Loving your videos as always!

Renting a pressure washer, along with a soapy scrub brush, might change the feeling of those tiles. And clean the walls and railing so they’re touchable for party guests and drinks (if not already). And, keeping a clean tile border around the rug and turf, gives an added dimension to the floor layout. Also, If the ficus stays, it would look groovy with its own solar mini lights, threaded throughout the branches

Word of experience from someone who also had an umbrella on my terrace at one point. If it has a base that can be filled with water be sure to do that. If not be sure it is tethered to something secure! Mine was closed and on a windy day it caught just the right gust and flew off. Would never have believed it if I didn’t have a camera out there.

You can put the long sofa against the grass wall, the table in front and the singles facing the grass wall at an angle. Sitting on the long sofa the brick wall will be to your right.

Taylor, I am not outdoorsy type person so this wasn't my favorite video but I can see you took pride in your outdoor space and put a lot of effort into making it look nice. I am sure you and your friends will enjoy time spent out there. My biggest concern watching this was seeing you dangerously climb to install some of the lights along your roof - be careful, that looked awfully dangerous.

The cushions of the last set were rough but that furniture will really come back to life with a good sanding and applying teak oil. Hopefully you can keep it for your lower porch. Also, be careful for fake grass. it can get really hot in the summer so not very barefoot friendly. That said, it looks great and I like the attitude of making spaces look good and usable, even if you are renting.

This is great! Congrats! I've got an east village roof deck too...and I have to add.. get a decoy wasp nest & add it to the decor. It will keep the wasps away. They love to build nests under the furniture covers and in the umbrellas... but if they see a decoy nest they will likely feel deterred. Also, I spray down my roof deck with a mixture of vinegar, dish soap, and water ... keeps insects away!
