I just recently discovered Olaplex and it is a life-changer. I started coloring my hair when it started to go grey, and I had no idea how it would wreck my curls. I saw Olaplex on Tiktok and decided to give it a try, and it changed my hair game. I got the sample kit so I could try it without investing a ton of money, we all have cemeteries of products that just don't work. After my first treatment a week ago, I bought the largest size of the repair treatment because it is that good. I have spent the week using different styling products to see which hold I like best, and I love them all though mousse made my hair really soft and voluminous. I also got the finishing oil and leave-in conditioner, which I use after I wash my hair. I mix the oil in with my product and then also use it in between washes directly on my hair. I give this product a thumbs up and have recommended it to all my curly-haired friends. :)

@InimeKai7 жыл бұрын
unless they're water soluble silicones you're just going to have to use a sulfate shampoo to actually wash them out
@elizabethh8927 жыл бұрын
You can use other strong surfactants, but they are just as bad give or take as sulfates
@berchyzgb44237 жыл бұрын
Well great 😐 is it ok to wash your hair with sulfates once in month and a half or maybe even two? My hair doesn't get greasy fast, so by the time it does, it can go week and a half, and I don't wash it till I see some natural oil, and would it be bad considering my hair gets all the natural moisture (well, the roots), and like I said once in two months with sulfates and in beetween with sulfate free? Thank you 😊
@InimeKai7 жыл бұрын
using sulfates every once in the while won't kill your hair. the curly girl method takes kind of an alarmist stance on sulfates- yes they are drying, but once in a while is no big deal. you should incorporate them at least now and then if you're using silicones for sure. i don't use silicones, but i use a sulfate shampoo once in a while just to get a deep cleanse/potentially wash out any silicones from my skincare etc that may have gotten in my hair. i'd say try to find a balance between your sulfate free/sulfate shampoo that works for you and allows your hair to not look wonky from silicone buildup/also not be too stripped that it starts overproducing oil. couldn't tell you how often exactly you could go without a sulfate shampoo without the silicones building up or when it would be excessive and dry out your hair but don't be afraid to at least use it every now and then and see what works for you : )

Olaplex is great! I have a hookup with my cousin and she got me the travel kit with step 1 and 2 from a license store similar to cosmoprof. On Olaplex site it says "the longer it sits, the better the results" so I overnight olaplex in my hair like my prepoo routine. 😁
@JoyBeforeHer7 жыл бұрын
that's awesome!! hookups are the best lol
@keipalermo3107 жыл бұрын
While longer the better the company said it pretty much stops working after 30 minutes so overnight is unnessicary. Also no matter the time left in make sure it doesn't dry out, that will also render it ineffective

I went through two bottles of the Olaplex, but I did not see a difference. I suspect it is due to the fact that my hair was over processed and damaged by a hair stylist no longer with Ulta. I am still crying! Should I continue to use it?
@ivonizm_97127 жыл бұрын
I'm The Wifey, I have the same question, should I try again, or is it that we have to use it often and for a long time before we see the results? Because I did it once at the hair salon, so the whole process - steps 1, 2, 3 i guess, or what ever it is they do with olaplex at salons, it was couple of years ago when olaplex was a new thing and it was soo expensive, and i've seen no results on my hair what so ever :( so i never did it again, i assumed it's just not working on curly hair. Curly damaged hair that is.. :( any thoughts?
@dmarieK7 жыл бұрын
Ivonizm _ I was thinking if #2 is the stronger formula then why are they selling #3? There are so many promises they claim, but is it just propaganda? I tried it so many different ways: leaving it longer than stated and putting on a heat cap. My hair is still in a "I should wear a wig" state.
@ivonizm_97127 жыл бұрын
I'm The Wifey my thoughts exactly. But maybe if we use it regularly for a month or..3,4 months, we'll start to see the results. It's just always a question if we are waisting money or it will pay off eventualy and it's soo annoying 😬
@dmarieK7 жыл бұрын
Ivonizm _ Yes you are so right! Maybe I'll give it another chance or just wait to see her follow-up video.
@lilchivi037 жыл бұрын
Well you could not repair chemical damage after just one used. It works little by little. But u also have to used good shampoo n conditioner to go with it. N no heat if the hair is damage. Also #2 is sold only for professional.
