If you have any sort of hard evidence against him like a recording or text where he threatens you, you have enough to file a restraining order. If not, maybe consider working with a PI to get him on tape threatening you and build a case. Also, if enough employees are willing to go on record, you can do a class action lawsuit against Gamestop for allowing him to continue working there despite his illegal activities and sexual harassment. They definitely wouldn't want that kind of attention given what's gone down at Blizzard

I just recently had something similar. Let's start off by saying I'm disabled, busted my back, 18 years ago. I can move around decently but constantly deal with nerve pain. Getting hurt crushed my hopes of being a martial arts teacher. 12 years of training and teaching new students under the tutelage of a (come to find out) sketchy instructor. After getting hurt, my instructor ghosted me, I had no use anymore. Thanks to the internet I met great instructors world-wide and got to talking to them. They couldn't find any lineage of this instructor. They talked to Sifus and grandmasters in NY, Buffalo etc. Nobody ever heard of him. Well.. I ran into his Sifu about 4 years ago at a park. He said he'd teach me, but I said I can't do the art anymore, to which he said he'd teach me the history and healing of the art. Now.. we never talked price or anything and it never came up till the end. We became friends.. or so I thought. He looked to open up his school.. teaching in the park only and wanted advertisement. He took out a white pages ad and was so proud and boastful about how he will make his Kung Fu known around town. Well.. as you can guess.. nobody called. So he asked me to make a FB profile, okay.. I explained how the internet works and how many martial arts studios list their teachers styles etc. He had me give a make up name, which we argued over for weeks.. but I went ahead and did that. Then he'd call to see how the page was doing( no visits surprisingly). I even paid 5 bucks to reach his page out to 500 people.. did that for three months. Nothing. Now here's the thing. I told him he needed to be engaging, give information, post photos of stances, weapons etc... It's what draws people in. He'd tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about and all he needed in the 70s was to have the system, weapons, self defense and rape prevention and that's all you needed. Well.. I didn't know any better lol.. so I just started to distance myself. Then I come down with Valley Fever 3 years ago and was hospitalized for a week (still dealing with it). I get home and see 30 missed calls and messages from him. Ok.. cool. Let me check my messages and I'll call him back. Well.. the last message he flipped out. Said he taught me so much, wasted his time, that I owe him hundreds of dollars for our phone time, that he was going to come to my house and kick my "crippled ass". So.. no need to call him after hearing that. Now fast forward to last week. We moved out of California so I can have clean air to help me deal with this Valley Fever. Kid you not, one hour after stepping through the door I have a call come through and it looked familiar (he often used student cell phones), I answer and here his stumbling voice and I hung up. He calls me 5 more times and I blocked each number he called from then he blocks his number and calls. Thankfully his calls have stopped after that day. I might still file a police report about harassing calls. He even tried getting a hold of any relatives of mine. I tell ya.. he is charismatic and can draw people in.. but he's stuck in the late 70s. I know he probably was trying to get his school going again with the threat of war breaking out. He and my old instructor made sure everyone's payments were kept hidden and not discussed. If they knew you had money.. they'd wring as much possible out of you under the guise of getting things that nobody else got. As for the art they taught.. it was about 90% legit.. I don't know who they learned from or if they had some sort of old 60s vhs tapes or whatever. There was a lot of truth in the art, but a lot of deviousness..

I think shitty DMs and Store Managers is a requirement at Gamestop. I was an ASM and my Manager was lazy and pushed work onto me and other workers, and the DM was all smiles and pretended to be nice, but he randomly fired people because he didn't like them (amongst other things). I complained about the store manager not working and making employees do his work, and afterwards they fired me for BS too. So I just think this is Gamestop's culture.
@pigs182 жыл бұрын
It's a retail thing. Store managers often get pressure for things far out of their control. (During a tropical depression I had to stand up to my DM and explain that two thirds of the people in the mall that day bought something in our store. Unfortunately that only meant about a dozen transactions. We did 10% in total sales compared to the same day in the previous year which is the only thing the company cared about.) Resentment for impossible goals and little oversight are a perfect recipe for inappropriate behavior.
@wickedninja85992 жыл бұрын
@@pigs18 It's still not the associates fault and pushing all the work on them and treating them like that isn't excusable because the DM is an asshat. All that does is make 2 asshats in the chain. If he did sue you, he'd probably be completely screwed in court specifically because he did threaten to kill you repeatedly. Ya know, aside from the fact that you never used his actual name.

I'm subscribing for 2 reasons. 1. Your accent. I'm from Australia and I grew up with Walker. I don't know if you mentioned being from Texas but your accent gave me that vibe and it's kinda nostalgic even though I don't think they really had strong accents in the show. Who knows. I was a child. 2. Your whole story was interesting. I'm sat watching this video past 1am and I didn't think I'd even watch more than 5 minutes. Here I am with 2 minutes to go. Funny ass video and mad interesting! Quality!

The stuff that Egg taught you would get you fired and him still be there, which I always thought was unfair and the reason why I hate working at jobs.

I would say not to worry about him. I think he is just trying to scare you into submitting, because if you wind up dead, your videos are as good as a road map to him as the prime suspect and he knows it, and as much as he tries to keep his illegal activities on the down-low, I don't think he will take that risk.

Past ASM here. My SM was a fantastic boss and would be disgusted if we did anything like that. I'll never talk bad about him. In fact, nothing really shady happened in our district that I know about. I left simply because how they treated us, how I can't mentally do retail anymore, and how little the pay was for all the work they kept piling.

I had one too many bad experiences with Gamestop and their employees. As someone who was a customer for many years in the 90's and early 2k's I stopped going there a long while ago and will never ever give them a single dime of my money again. I'm sure they don't care, but I do. I won't get into it but I assure you it never had to do with game trades(I never traded a single game to them) it was far more with attitude and shady business practices

I Worked at a Software Store many years ago, it predates Gamestop, we were allowed to "borrow" games, this included PC games and it was company policy. I even had a chance to run a Super Nintendo promo game for the new Star Fox. We got a special "contest" version of StarFox in a gold cartridge and a bunch of Starfox merch for prizes... This was the year that SNES had come out. A few years later, I am doing security guard work at a GameStop warehouse during the Christmas season, when the PS2 came out..

Egg cant sue you over telling the truth. Egg doesn't hate you as much as he hates himself. He knows everything you said about him was the truth, sometimes the truth hurts. Right Egg?
@Xyrrek2 жыл бұрын
You should call his bluff on being sued because through discovery you can get all the nitty gritty details and once they are published in the public court he has effectively doxxed himself which then put him in deep ass water with his family, all provided if he is still in fear of that.

Are those the two options? End or sue? I guess I'd have to recommend 'sue' because when he (most likely) fails at that, he won't end up in prison for a failed suit attempt. He can legally and safely plan and execute a suit. Unlike that other option.

Screw that guy he is jealous and since he used to be your boss ASSUMES that he can still tell you what to do. He cannot stand losing control of someone and is probably a crook being he managed at game stop. 7 minutes in and yes this guy is a piece of doodoo. Karma is coming up on him like a freight train. Keep telling the truth Camelot, he is not your boss anymore.

I had a kid in high school claim he was going to shoot me. We had serious history involving the suicide of a mutual friend. I outed him to our classmates as one of the people that was harassing the poor kid before he took his own life the day before freshman year of high school. He was a minor so it wasn't public knowledge that he was criminally involved. He was sentenced to some kind of counseling. Basically for a few years after that I would just hear about stuff he was saying behind my back. Then one day in gym class we got into an argument during a volleyball game and in front of everyone he said he was going to get one of his dad's guns and shoot me. My immediate thought was to end him, but my tennis coach/gym teacher got to him first. He marched him into his office and called the cops. He had other problems in school and that was the last straw, they expelled him for good.

Gotta love gaming shop retail work. For people who haven't done this kinda work, the stuff that happens behind the counter is pretty messed up. Like promotions being misleading and feel more like a punishment for hard work, cutthroat attitudes toward customers in terms of "haggling", trying to break the law to avoid having to pay the employees their overtime hours, and so on. And to any associates working today, don't be afraid to stand by principles when it's needed. Get paid for your work, especially with how hectic the environment can get, don't blindly accept things at face value, print out a copy of your time card/sheet every shift (so they can't pretend to hide when they try and fudge your hours), and if you've got genuine ideas to help keep things running smoothly at the shop, tell your manager or assistant manager about them. And if you get the "Well corporate wants.." excuse, then weigh the pros and cons of playing chicken with corporate. If corporate wants to play "christmas music" that have lyrics threatening Santa at gunpoint if he doesn't bring money as a present, and you want to play more wholesome music that likely could be background music in a game... Your customers will choose the latter, (trust me, I asked every customer that came in what they'd prefer hearing in a store revolving around video games. They wanted music about games, and wholesome stuff. And every time the janky stuff was played, every customer was in a foul mood, didn't want to buy stuff and just wanted to leave ASAP... You're likely a gamer, so don't be afraid of the main story villain.)

Huh, one time I bought a ps3 off a lady outside a GameStop. She tried to sell it to the store, they offered her like forty bucks, and I was standing nearby and I went "psst, I'll give you $200 for that right now". I wonder if the employee that offered her forty bucks was trying to make a little cash on the side... PS dude wtf
