Matt Hugdel have you just removed the silencers

2x4 in1 Steel exhaust manifolds, homemade Steel "Y", homemade expansion chambre and then free stainless Steel silencer. The same result is not garanted on an other engine, depending on the compression ratio, piston size, work on the cylinder heads and work on the inlet manifold. Efi and carbs breath is different. Quality of the stainless Steel and the choice of diameter is also important. Very hard to find 2 identical results even if using the same combination.

I'm aiming to one of those but I admit the big buick 215 engine worries me a little when it comes to maintenance... any word and opinion about this engine? :)

It's a very reliable engine. But most of them are in bad condition to handle properly. Most of the time not enough oil changes, old worn camschaft and pushrods, bad timing chain and when very old bad bearings resulting in bad engine oil pressure...but despite all the engine still runs with bad performances, bad fuel mileage. Changing few parts camshaft, pushrod, timing chain and gears, bearings, good cylinder heads and the engine is back to life.

Once got one of 84 which was with 14,5 l, 3.5 twin stromberg lt77 and lt 230 with 1.197 Ratio, genuine 205 tires
