I returned to the game last Fall. Honestly, the Spotlight system alone was enough to do most of the heavy lifting at that point: when every single Key meant a new card, I was feeling great (Thanos and Nebula's Matrix-like dodging skills notwithstanding). Now, of course, there are a lot more cards to be had.

I think Jeff's early comments on the economy are pretty spot-on for returning or new players. For the existing player base, I feel like a slight release from the governor on the grind (bad analogy, but it's where my brain went) would work wonders. It's a mobile game, so i fully expect there to be a good bit of grinding. Making it so that effort of grinding brought about *slightly* better rewards, i think would help. For example, changing the 100 collector's tokens reward to a 100-300 probably wouldn't be an issue for 2D, but would help players a lot.

If you're missing Nocturne and Legion you'll want some other ways to mitigate location variance. Storm, Witch or Snowguard are fine options.

I came back in May after I year and maybe it was just dumb luck but as soon as I came back I got gladiator in a collection level box and honestly didn't even realize till month after that he was even s5 lol I thought he was s3 for how easily I got him and I was happy with that

I don’t think it comes as a shock that the more “optimal” decks for arishem include lots of tech cards. Throw a counter to any archetype in a deck and use Arishem ramp + RNG for cube equity. Low hanging fruit but it should be no surprise

As a returning player from six months away after being about 95% complete, I’m now 30 cards missing and 27 are series 5. There’s insanely too many series 5 cards right now for me to worry about trying to get complete again.

Increase token gain from 100 on collection path to 250 Drop more relavant older cards so you can actually unlock some cards in the collection path when you return

The new player experience is worse than the returning player. Face only bots to infinite and then wait almost half a year to have an optimal deck with all necessary season 5 cards for said arcatype. Also tuning cards to be overpowered so you waste resources on it only for it to catch a nerf to the shadow realm is gross for both new current and returning players

The first suggestion here literally means you get every card on release for free. It isn't sustainable and the game dies like Runeterra or Gwent.

@@Mdash37 I don't think SD ever intentionally releases a card or buffs it to the moon to make you spend resources just to nerf it into the ground. If a card gets nerfed, it's because it's overperforming for it's cost or it's a meta defining problem. And even then they go back on nerfs if the they think the game is in a healthy state to do so, i.e. Werewolf going back to 3 cost, Angela getting her +2 back until recently but her change was maybe more of a side grade. Both of which were problem cards/overperforming at some point and got nerfed. That's typically how SD handles nerfing things.

​@JeffHoogland I appreciate the reply and love your content. I was an lor competively ranked player that picked up snap in February after they aborted their entire comp scene. But if you think dropping a couple extra cards to series 4 or 3 and changing the requirements from 7200 CL for a single series 5 card to 2880CL is going to make it anywhere close to how free to play LOR was you were clearly never an LOR main. I want to be collection complete I learn decks by playing with them. SNAP is a thousand dollar investment as a new player to just be collection relevant. Also the main problem with LOR wasn't card acquisition entirely. The product was mishandled for a long time. They should've sold packs and slowly released content like snap instead of dumping 50 cards every 3 months and then doing nothing to keep it fresh in between. Arishem is clearly a W since half my deck is random and its more about adaptability and skill vs having a perfect 12 card deck

3:23 As someone who just got back into marvel snap after a couple months of not playing i just wish i didn't have to climb from all the way down to bronze and spend so much time playing against bots. Overall ithink snap's economy is really good especially when compared with games like mtg.

I think Quinjet is a MUST HAVE in Arishem deck. Discounting cards cost, along with Sera (Mobius doesn't exist 😅), with also the extra energy is TOTALLY BROKEN!!!

In an ideal world, series drop happen once every two months and or the cards released isnt all series 5.

Predictable series drops means that most people don't get cards on release and always wait for downgrades. It was one of the biggest issues with the old system. People didn't engage with it.

I think if I ever became a returning player to Marvel Snap.. the option to buy any or all of the Season Pass cards I missed would be okay.. That way I could quickly get back into some themes, play styles, or archetypes I missed.. Or even just power cards I would want.. Ideally.. assuming it’s $80 a month to get all the cards.. If I missed say 5 months.. There needs to be a mechanism for me to say here’s $240.. please give me months 2,3 and 5.. Actual price dependant on 4 or 5 weeks in the missed Season.

I love arishem, but the tech cards in this game are a major issue. Almost zero point in playing you own strategy when you can just counter everything your opponents do 🤦‍♂️
