One of the best running videos I've ever seen and I've watched thousands. The ending was like a thriller. I think I lost a couple of kilos just watching the final three minutes. Wonderful bit of filming.

Hi Sergeant, thanks so much for the kind words. Really appreciate it. It was certainly an unusual race, with a very unique finish, and was glad to have filmed it. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks Henrike. Nowadays I look back and smile, but to be honest it was the worst twelve hours of my life. I don't think I have the nerve to ever go back again! Are you thinking of running it next year?

I've been gobbling up 100 mile race videos as I prepare for my first in a couple weeks. This video definitely has the best sense of humor, and I really appreciate your casual style of reporting what's going on.

Thanks Eric. That's exciting, which race are you doing? Nothing like crossing the finish line at a 100 miler for the first time, wishing you the very best of luck.

'I haven't seen a ribbon. I have seen a horse though!' Haha! You would crack me up if I were running with you! Great video - well done Kris, you really deserved that finish. I'm sure your mate would have been super proud. X (BTW - this also had me in tears!!)

Ah mate, I'm tearing up here. Brilliant ending. I was second to last at the NDW100 2019, so know the horrible feeling of uncertainty around cutoff chasing.
@KrisPeter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Well done at ndw100, I finished third last there in 2017 so can relate to you on that one. Such a tough course, way harder than sdw.

@@KrisPeter Good to hear, as I'm booked in for SDW100 this year, and training is not going to plan. Best of luck to you for your future races Kris

Sad to hear some aid stations had slim pickings by the time you got there. I’ll for sure be one of the back markers when I do it too 😔

Whew. That was a bit emotional at the end. Thank you for posting this. My first 100 miler is 8 weeks away and I needed to watch something like this.

Good luck! Which one are you doing? SDW I'm guessing??
@brianhapeman92623 жыл бұрын
It was the Yeti 100 here in the States. Unfortunately, I DNF’d at 71 miles after 4 continuous hours of nausea. I had a great experience though and will definitely try again! The SDW looks great! Once the pandemic is under control, I’ll add it to my bucket list.

I have my first 100 mile ultra tomorrow so watching some videos for tips. Your video is awesome, loving the subtle humour and nail biting finish. Awesome stuff. (I'll be sure to double check my garmin is fully charged tomorrow)

Hi Howard, thanks, good luck tomorrow! Guessing you're doing the 1066 ultra? Just make sure you don't do anything I did, and you'll do great.

@@KrisPeter thanks, it's the Dragon 100 (Welsh Coastal Path and a few mountains). It's going to be a scortcher! I'm picking up a few tips from a few different videos, but you yours stood out. Awesome content 👍

This is just amazing! Huge well done, what an accomplishment, so glad you made it. The SDW100 still remains as one of the toughest I've done.
@KrisPeter2 жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks! Yes SDW is a lot more tough I think because the final 15 miles is just up and down massive hills. Other races usually calm down a bit towards the end, particularly in the south east of England, but that one is uniquely cruel!
@wendykane73484 жыл бұрын
You had me in tears! What a journey! I've just done the SDW100 last weekend, the race got cancelled due to Covid and my crew made it possible to go ahead! My 1st 100 mils and it was Epic! Looks very different in the summer! We had to run through 14 hours of darkness! Looking forward to doing the actual race in 2022!

Well done on the 100 miles! Must be even harder in winter, not to mention when it's a virtual race too. Congrats! Hope to see you at a 'real' race soon!

Thanks Neil, I agree it can be useful to see what the suffering looks like before embarking on an ultra. Gets the mind ready for the pain! Good luck for your race, I'm sure yours will go better than mine did.

Thanks so much. Glad you've signed up, it's a great race. I'll be working at the race next year so may see you there! Also I think I recognise your name from my daughter's bookshelf, do you write children's poetry?? If so, your books are in her school library at the moment!
