We hope you enjoy your time with this early Felix Classic. We suspect a broken wire in part 7064 - Internal Loom ET. This connects to the small PCB by the suction motor and forms the power outlet sockets for the ET1. Though not a stressed part they seem prone to fail after 10-15 years. The ride height warning light seemed to be on too much too. This could indicate brushroll wear, incorrect setting of the selector knob or a jammed ride height wheel. The Classic exhaust filter this model wears can still be easily purchased. In your example the inner filter material seems to have separated from the outer decorative cloth. We laughed at it inflating like an old Hoover 😁 In time there is always a bit of slop in the swivel neck. If we were you we'd leave well alone. If it still locks upright and isn't physically broken, just worn, we'd live with it. Great video on a terrific machine.

These are sooo good vacuums. A bit heavy for my taste, but very versatile with plenty of airflow and good powerhead. I love mine and I bought it because of the hype😅 They were not wrong.

I find it a bit clunky to use with the tools, it's why I've never truly loved them as their just a bit clunky in my view, same as the x series. But it's manual height head makes up for it 😂 (after vid coming in a week or so, spoiler alert she lives 👌)

The clog trap door under my motor head no longer springs back in place, currently held on with tape. Any suggestions how to fix this? The spring is still there but ineffective. Thanks in advance

Seems the ring clips to hold the filter in place, top and bottom, are missing

No their here! I did snap one though, but luckily it glued up OK and I learnt the knack to push it together then release the clip!

It is indeed an early model. the ‘S’ at the beginning of the serial number denotes 2005 and production started in Feb 2005 as is written on your wheel.

As far as I know, the Felix was launched in 2006 in the UK, so that is one of the oldest ones there is. Most likely the wire between the socket plug and the pcb that is constantly flexing back and forth is broken internally. As you will well know from repairing loads of vacuums, it's a common problem on this type of design, and not just with Sebo. Flexible connection cables on swivel joints are a weak link and the other usual area they go is where the main power cable enters the vacuum body or handle.

Sebo introduced this new format of cleaner with a 'swivel neck' at the ISSA trade fair in New Orleans, USA in 2004 branded there as a Windsor Flexamatic. The Dart and Felix models came in 2005. The 2005 UK brochure offers three Felix models - Felix 1, Felix 1 Premium and Felix 2. All have 1300w suction motors. 1's have 175w brush motor with 31cm head and 2's have 200w brush motor for the bigger 37cm head. Felix 1 in white/blue (Ice Blue) only, Felix 1 Premium in ivory/burgundy/brown check (Classic) or in orange/violet (Fun), Felix 2 in white/blue (Ice Blue) only. Standard models have fixed handles and a simple on/off switch. Premium models added a telescopic handle, variable suction control switch and a parquet brush.

I read the other day that they use Sebo to clean Buckingham Palace, it didn't say which model - I suppose those of us that care about models are a niche market.

In a TV programme called 'Secrets of the Royal Servants' a Sebo XP10 can be seen being used at Buckingham Palace.
