I remember when I had to change my alternator what a PITA! to say the least. I didn’t have to remove the fan shroud or drain the radiator, but I did remove the water inlet piece right above the alternator to have working room. I also swapped mine out with an autozone one so far 33K and no issues.

Cut a hole in the body and use less bolts on the install plus delete the power steering. Get a one inch thick heavy duty radiator and the fans can be deleted without overheating.

My hack to get this out was to give up and take it to the mechanic and let him do it. He ended up lowering the engine out of the bay and going from below. You're gonna be the only source of P11 info now that the forums are all dead links. Keep it up!

I changed it out with no issues , you do not need to remove the radiator fan just the hose connecting from the block to the radiator the short hose on the left side. You can take the tension bolt out and you have free access to maneuver and unbolt it. Not a difficult job at all

I just cut the bolt out, overnighted a new one and installed the new bolt backwards. Easy.

I couldn't exactly cut it because I was on the road but I really wanted to cut it too lol

I had the battery light indicator on and abs and every 5 minutes I would lose power and the clock was out

I had the same problem with that bolt😡 but I just drilled a hole through the fire wall😁 it worked just fine.
