If you're interested to hear more about why I use a paper planning system over a digital one check out this free letter I wrote to my newsletter subscribers: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqeaaX5rrKuaZs0 Thanks for watching!! 🫶

This really resonates with me. It's organized without being stifling. Sometimes if something is too organized it can just overwhelm, and if it's not organized enough it's also overwhelming. But your system seems to really strike a good balance. The field notes notebook the way you use it is just such a great 'capture' tool.

feeling aimless when u don't have a plan going into the day is so real

I really like how you actually mentioned a place to throw information as soon as you get it! I always get confused when people say yeah just think about stuff and then write down genius ideas with no planning, quality control, or sorting needed. Obviously not every thought is written down but if someone is generating high level ideas aren't they usually also generating lots of them? Maybe it's just an ADHD thing to jump around constantly like wait doesn't Jordan get 80% of their water from somewhere else? oh man guys what if I was a giraffe? hang on if people eventually figure out how to live forever does that mean we could make our necks longer than giraffes? man I'm hungry. woah look at that thing on my hand. oh right back to watching the video

this is so great! thanks for sharing. there are lots of planner youtubers out there but there are hardly ones that approach it from a neurodivergent perspective. would definitely like to see more of these planner videos from you and how you navigate the AuDHD life with the help of your planner system

Love the video! I’m 34 and just got diagnosed with ADHD last summer. Digital systems distract me, and I just recently found out about these kinds of paper-based systems. Yours is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing about it and about yourself!

It's so interesting how people approach planning differently... I find your planning system quite complicated, but then I realised most people would look at mine and find it bizarre 😄 I love that you clearly find so much joy in analogue planning, and that it's genuinely helpful to you. I'm the same that way, I just have to remember that what works for you, or anyone else for that matter, isn't necessarily what works for me, and my own system is valid too 💕
@charlierewilding10 ай бұрын
Exactly! Life is uniquer and complex and chaotic so I feel like it's to be expected that we all have different and complicated systems that work for us but don't necessarily 'make sense' to other people. 🫶

Oooh, very excited for this - I was really inspired by your planner/notebook lineup video, to the point that I laid out a similar arrangement for myself and got myself some new notebooks and such for the new year! And I feel like our brains work so similarly in several ways, like when you said about shutting down/being more demand avoidant when you plan things very specifically and rigidly, or not doing anything at all if you have no to-do list to guide you? Those things REALLY spoke to me. Hope the year is treating you well so far :)
@charlierewilding10 ай бұрын
Oh yay!! Getting new notebooks is always sooooo exciting :) I have kind of given in to it now, and realise how much joy trying out new systems etc brings me. So nice to know you can relate to the balance of needing a to do list but needing it not to be too specific or detailed! It's one of the things I find most hard about managing my life :)

Really interesting video. Similarly to you - I also didn't plan my days. I'm trying to do better now. I love your Field Notes notebook. I have something similar - I keep a note on my phone called Park It Thoughts where I dump things that I want to look at later but I don't want them to distract me from my work.

15:04 This was what I really needed to hear. I find it fascinating that we all can create our own systems. I really like watching these journaling videos from your point of view. Can't wait for the next one! :)

100%! In a world of 'how tos' I feel as though we can get easily distracted by what everyone else is doing and forget that we can follow our own intuition too... inspiration is great, but there's no 'right' way.

This was so exciting for me to watch! Thank you for sharing. As a kid I loved notebooks and journaling and your video about going analogue reminded me how happy I was back then journaling and motivated me to do more writing again with my hand. I really liked the planner you have and looked it up but it was too expensive to ship where I live and I then decided to use one of my many small notebooks to create the planner myself inspired by how the one you have looks. I especially liked that each day is divided in two sections, I interpreted it as morning and afternoon😂 because I feel overwhelmed when I see the day as a whole 😅I find it so interesting how you divided the other section for self-care, what a great idea and it sounds wonderful! I might do it too 😍 Anyway, I was drawing the lines and dots and numbers for weeks now and am finally done and I'm so happy 🥰 I like colours though and mine is very colourful. I also love the future log, that's a great idea! Btw what pen do you use that enables you to write so tiny? I need it 😁 I love your recent videos, so relatable to another overwhelmed late diagnosed autistic 👍🥰

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!! :) It sounds like you've created something that suits you even more perfectly than buying the planner I have, that's awesome. For writing I either use Muji ballpoint pen 0.5 in black or Un Jour De Reve gel ink created by Iconic in 0.5. 🫶🏻

This is a very smart and useful planning system. Felt inspired to straight away try this out as I’m still figuring out how and what (and which planner/notebook of the many I have😅) to write about. Looking forward to watching more of your videos😊

Hi! Loved watching your video and super looking forward to your next video about your journal! Have a question about how often do you transfer your field notes to your other notebooks? I have a similar system for writing down my ideas, to do's and so on in my "inbox", but then I find it so overwhelming to keep up with everything that I've written down. I just desire to do so much stuff, obviously it's impossible, but it's hard to explain it to my brain :) I'm curious if you've experienced something similar.
