@@theparrotlady I said bcuz I, too, know that feeling of love at first sight! I had that experience when I met my first Chihuahua, Annabella, for the very first time. And that love is still with me even though she is not. We enjoyed our 15+ years together immensely, but I still smile, laugh - and cry - when I think about her or look at her pictures. I have been checking in on Sweet Pea for awhile. But this is the first I knew more about her history. I am so glad you found her. It sounds like you truly saved her! I've got 2 dogs- who had 12 puppies 7 weeks ago, that we can't seem to find good homes for, 2 cats, 2 kids, & my 76 yr old father-in-law w/ a bad heart who we care for, so with your vids I get to live vicariously through you (since I can't have a birdie!) And I absolutely love y'all & you make me smile every day! She's so lucky and blessed you found her and are willing and able to love her the way she needs. Too many people get parrots with no idea how much work it is to give them happy healthy lives. Hopefully one day they'll stop letting parrots be bred in captivity and kidnapped from the wild, but until then the survivors need people like you who can make their lives fuller and happier and healthier.
