I've been using this recipe since August. I frickin' love it. It's so versatile that I forget I'm even using it. Thank you.

If you change drive mode from single to something like low speed burst or high speed burst, the camera will turn off the clarity setting automatically. I leave mine on single mode but sometimes if I need burst I will switch to burst mode. Majority of my pictures will have the added clarity and some will not. I feel this is better than turning it off for all pictures entirely. This works for the x100v.

I actually think the difference between Nostalgic Neg and Classic Chrome is far from subtle, but quite obvious. NN is far warmer and as a result the highlight roll off also just looks more pleasant. And - dare I say - more filmic.

I actually used this on my fine pix x100 under Astia and the jpegs come out awesome very filmic with a pro mist . Even when missing half the settings because the x100 doesn’t have the same as the rest of the newer versions

I just got the X-S20 and it's such a fun and nimble little beast it has me considering selling my Canon R6 and RF lenses. Nostalgic Negative is by far my favorite film sim and the the fact the x100v doesn't have it is shocking. Thanks for this vid!

Thanks! I really really enjoyed using it, glad you liked this video.

Not really shocking at all. The X100V has been out for quite a while and is overdue for an updated model. Looks like the successor will finally come out in 2024 and should have all the latest film sims, including NN.

Hi mike, I have been following your video for quite a long now and I love your work Soo much. By the way, could you share on how we can achieve that portra 400 v simulation on other old Fujifilm model such as Xe3? It would be helpful if you could give some suggestions on how to achieve that film simulation:)

Hi Mike ! Thanks for your video ! I just got the XS20 and don’t understand how to properly set a fujifilm recipe in my camera. If I set the shooting mode to auto on any custom setting, then I can’t customize any of the other setting like WB, etc … the 2nd page of the IQ menu is skipped entirely. Do you know why this is ? Should I always select a program or manual shooting mode for my custom settings ? Thank you so much !

Why are these fotos exported in jpeg when you can do raw and edit it in post? I mean, does it have to do with it being more practical, or is it like a personal choice? Im new to the camera scene so I try to understand it a bit more.

I need your assistance. I recently purchased the x-s20, and I'm encountering some frustration with the settings. I've set up a custom configuration (C1), but unfortunately, the white balance adjustments aren't being saved specifically for that configuration; instead, they seem to apply globally across all configurations. Is there a way to solve it?
@arturomaik9 ай бұрын
You might be setting an auto white balance mode. Make sure you save the changes before moving to another camera settings that happened to me too. Hope by now you found the solution (I am not an expert)
@miquelgl5199 Жыл бұрын
great video, thanks. I got also an x-s20, but the q menu doesn't give me so many options of recipes (like my ex fujifilm X-T4 or my X-E4), just the C1-C 4 options. Is that right or I am missing something?
@rolyoliver Жыл бұрын
You can have more on the app and then swap them over. Bit clunky. But possible. It’s what they recommend
@trym2121 Жыл бұрын
i dont know how that clarity option can get a pass when it hinders the shooting experience so much. Even with new proc, it's still like that. I mean if Fujifilm wants it as an option to edit image, just hide that option for shooting and that feature become visible when editing raw in camera

Sorry man, Classic Chrome needs a different White Balance shift to look like Nostalgic Negative (it might need even Shade/Overcast/Cloudy). Work a little bit harder on your homework, please! You might get better results with Eterna or Astia (see "Timeless Negative" recipe of Ritchie for sensor IV or "Vintage Astia" of Justin) in simulating Nostalgic Negative.
