To anyone interested, Eddie from Davidoff, and another well-known cigar enthusiast, were considering whether aging was best done in or out of cellophane. The intrigue ended with a smoke. They smoked the same cigar essentially that was aged for decades, two aged in cellophane and two aged without... They were quite surprised at the experience and flavor from the cigar aged in cellophane. They determined that the cigars aged in cellophane were superior to the cigars aged without them. The flavor is better preserved with cellophane, and it isn't entirely known why. Most believe it is oxygen exposure. Eddie described that the cigar aged in cellophane was much closer to the original flavor to the cigar when he smoked it his previous time, ages before. Seems like you can compare aging to various other practices among high-quality products, you do not want to rush the process in the same way you do not want to smoke a brisket at 400F in four hours, rather you take the time to age or cook quality products slowly and consistently. I have stopped removing my cigars from the cellophane upon putting them into my humidor since hearing this, maybe you will be convinced to stop cutting the ends.

I love kuba's with a nice cold glass of Guinness!.. Love the drew estate and deadwood line up. 2nd fav drink is a maple old fashion with a nice sweet stick. Great vid man, you have my dream humidor!

Lol, well I guess I won't be alone in saying that we have similar taste in cigars. I just wanted to say I like your system of maintaining your cigars, like cutting off the foot of the cellophane and dating them, etc. That's a good practice I'd like to replicate when I get my own humidor and start collecting. My favorite paring is a Don Rafael 2004 with any light beer. I’m very impressed with how well it smokes with a light beer. It’s a very good cheap cigar and I can only find them online.

Beautiful humidor . Your cigar selection is on point , great sticks in there especially the padrons , careful with the muwats in there , they have a very strong camp fire aroma to them , don’t want them corrupting near by stogies .

Great tour. I’ve been considering buying from 1st class humidors but I’ve been a bit leery due to how cheap they are and the fact they throw in the cigar oasis for free. Seems like a “too good to be true” type of thing. This video helped put my mind at ease and go ahead and make my purchase. Thank you.

@@NpgSymboL Good question... It probably was made in China, but mine was shipped from a place in Florida. I really LIKE MINE! The only thing that I recommend is adding insulation around the door. It makes a huge difference in consistency of humidity temperature. Honestly, it really doesn't need it but, I like how mine operates with the door sealed.

Cellophane is made from trees and is porous so it allows air to come in and out, the point of it is to keep the wrapper leaf in tact and not be damaged in shipping or while in the humidor

Nonetheless, it seems that if you plan to age your cigars for a long time, then it is much better to leave them in the cellophane. I have never smoked 20-40yr old cigars, so I can only defer to "experts", but this seems to be the case. Rather excited to find out for myself from experimenting.

Very nice collection! Really caught my attention because your collection is ridiculously close to my own. I two am a big fan of the Oliva serie V. I enjoyed the vid. Great commentary as well. If you find your self looking for a unique and flavorful stogie; look into the "La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amor" in Belicoso. Great stick & believe it (was or still is) a 95 rated stick. Thanks!

Robusto Maduro, Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto Sumatra, Diesel Unholy Cocktail Belicoso Maduro, Kristoff Ligero Robusto Maduro, CAO Flathead V660 Carb, Gurkha Centurian Double Perfecto, and ACID Cigars by Drew Estate Deep Dish Gordo Sumatra. I’m really glad I ran across your video! I ordered this same humidor in December and its enroute to NH! Due to arrive Friday! Ive got roughly 1000 Ranging from 80 Liga Privada 9 doble corona’s, many Cao variety’s and a ton of Dunbarton Sin Compromiso’s, Todos Las Dias’s and Sobremesa’s with a variety of others really excited to load it up and I appreciate your lighting system! I bought a Cigar Oasis 3.0 magna and 3 xikar humifans!

Tito frost, It’s looking fantastic, I’m waiting on 2 boxes of AJ Fernandez Ramone Allones toro’s to get here Thursday and at that time will be fully stocked! Very excited! I plan on doing my first You tube video in the humidor, and overstock of what didn’t go in the huge humidor and the cigar room that we had built that I’m still waiting for the custom doors for the cigar room main door and closet to come in around a week and install! The rabbit air minus 2 that i have mounted to the wall above the power leather loveseat works terrific!
