NewAir 840 Count Humidor

Literally just took delivery of the NewAir 840 AIO. Sadly, it arrived and was missing the hardware (screws) for the door handle. They are not pre-installed inside the door, as I have seen in many reviews. This won't prevent me from getting the system up and running though, as the screws are inside the door seal. NewAir said I should have the screws in 3-5 days. Also, notably, is a change... actually elimination of the drawer center dividers. They simply are not there in the new units. When I called NewAir about my door screws, I asked them about this. They said the change was made as a result of customer comments and recommendations. They also changed/updated the digital unit to improve temp/humidity accuracy (can be off by +/- 3 degrees). Nice to see a company that listens to, and acts on customer input!

I LOVE MINE!!!! Usually order boxes…they make for one epic wall display. Temperature is very reliable throughout but the humidity can stagger a bit! Nice review and enjoy

Nice review, I have one like it, but I had 6 custom veneer drawers made and installed a led strip inside the door! Great review!!

Just set mine up today! What a beautiful unit. Looking forward to seeing how this unit performs. I think they could have done a better job with the water fill location, extremely difficult to see.

Been thinking for buying this for some time. Other than the divider on the drawers, the only other negative thing based on reviews was not maintaining humidity. Have you had any issues, or will you do a follow-up review?

@@chadblomgren5609 I am. I received my replacement two days ago (due to the digital display reading 5% high from actual RH) and sure enough, the dividers were completely absent.

Thanks Gregory! I did receive mine and you’re correct-no dividers. That’s great news! Now for the not so great news. Is your unit out of sync by at least 5 degrees and 5% humidity? And what’s with all the knocking and noises? Is your new unit improved? Thanks!

@@chadblomgren5609 No problem! Glad you’re mostly satisfied. My unit is off by about 5% humidity as well. My first dividerless replacement had a cracked piece of plastic around the door and my second replacement came with a broken bottom drawer! I never even got a chance to plug them in. Currently waiting on my third replacement. The unit is a bit loud, but I’ve gotten used to it. The knocked, gurgling, whirring sounds are pretty normal. Once you fill the unit with a large amount of cigars I found they do reduce some of the noise by creating a dampening effect and reducing the overall ‘echo chamber effect’ of the unit itself.

have had nothing but horrible experience with my Newair humidor and the customer service is deplorable.I have had issue after issue and ZERO support. Do NOT buy their crap. And if you do good luck with talking to someone.
