I'm going to be looking at my settings again....I have traditionally turned off most of the driving assistance...after watching this I think I might give them another go...I'm in a 2020 with IDrive 7 so I don't have them all, but still quite a few I'm not using.

Great video. Thank you! I recently purchased an iX M60 and was curious if there was a way to make/save a personal setting for the car mode? I had an Audi that would let me save settings like comfort steering, comfort suspension, aggressive shifting and loud exhaust vs just choose from the predetermined Comfort/Sport/etc modes. BMW has the modes, but the personal mode doesn’t seem to have preferences to set. Also, is there a way to adjust the level of tilt the passenger side mirror holds when you are in reverse? For me it tilts down too much. Thank you

So in BMW the only customizable mode is SPORT in terms of the suspension/steering/traction/ etc. where as the personal mode allows for OTHER customizations like the instrument cluster and interior color. Is this a mistake? i personally believe so, i think when something's customizable why not allow it in all modes.

depending on the car yes. but you'll have to do it every time. Honesty, with the 48V system i'd be amazed if it became something you'd really notice.

I’m not a fan of CarPlay. When iPhone connect just via BT and you goto Media and select the phone and then podcasts does it still list all podcasts on phone in a random order like idrive7 and not in groups of series and episodes like nearly every other car. Thanks

Hi would you mind doing DAPP over on medium and light weather condition?(I was wondering how good or if it can be activated when it rains and snows) I understand it's not safe to use, but I want to see to what extent that the driving asistance will continue to perform well.

SO... did it... unfortuately my phone which was my recorder died mid shoot.. BUT i can tell you it went perfectly fine during a good volume rain storm. At one point on the highway the rain picked up and it told me to take over due to poor visibility but even the Tesla did that under similar circumstances.

@@BMWofFW thanks!! good to know. Still hoping to see if in the future you could get a record though, maybe snow as well because snow tends to cover the lane lines so would like to know how well it does with lane keeping

Do you know why Highway Assistant is only available on the 7 series atm. You would think they should be able to enable it for other iDrive 8 cars like the 3 right?

So it's a hardware difference, other cars with ID8 can be using Servicepack 21 or 18 (the LCI cars minus the X5 and X6 have SP18). SP21 will have the Highway Assistant in cars made from April 2023 on when they get Drivers Assistant Professional.

for seat/steeringwheel/ and mirrors just make sure you save it in the preset, profile will do the rest.

I have 840 I 2 door and the suspension seem to bottom out on any little bump or manhole cover. Is there anything I can do to make the ride more manageable? I already got rid of the run flat tires iI

nope... there solely to let you know the engine is on and car is locked.

Hello, my mirrors stoped folding in and out, checked the settings its still on to fold for lock and unfold for unlock any ideas how to get them back working ? 23’ X7

uncheck and recheck the fold option. start engine, turn off lock and walk away for 10 minutes. that should reset any issue with that setting.

yup! you cross a time zone line and it will adjust everything, onbloard time as well as arrival time if you're traveling cross country.

Hello, how do you have the "My modes" Application? I have a BMW X5 m60i and it doesn't appear. Why?

Because your X5 is still running off the older center console which has it’s modes as buttons, only the brand new models (X1/2, 5, 7, and iX) have myModes

Every one of your videos is super informative; you are extremely smart and knowledgeable, but identically to several other earlier comments by others, YOU TALK TOO FAST, critically so for those who are in the process of using your videos to learn. Please instead of cramming this one into the 9:34 seconds as you did, it would have been very much more valuable if you had said every exact word but taken 12:00 minutes to do so -and I would have learned more without needing to watch, stop, re-peat section after section to figure out “what did he just say and mean.” Please re-record this identical video in 12:00 minutes and see if others agree that more was learned, more comfortably at your slower talking pace.
