I've had good results using a land line phone equipped with a speaker phone, ... and simply using the XY mics on the H5. Set the proper level and make sure there are no extraneous sounds in the room ... and you're in business. Enough for a good record /evidence.

That's true, but recording clean audio using this method is really intended for content creation, such as podcasts, where you want the best quality for your guests.

@@DIYVideoStudio That's reasonable. I don't dispute the logic in that scenario, certainly. What I outlined is a quick and dirty version for dealing with governments and other dodgy entities on the fly.

Could you use a y-splitter cable on the lav mic instead of two lav mics? What are the concerns?
