Nice pitch dude Heres my Themes Pitch Part 1: Love, Humanity and Purpose Part 2: Hate, Revenge and Forgivness Part 3: Emptiness and Rebirth Imagine the main theme revolving around the feeling of emptiness because at the end of Part 2 she's lost everything and is empty inside. It doesn't have to be totally hopeless though. “being empty means anything can fit inside you. if you want to be reborn, empty's the best way to be.”- Vinland saga. Maybe it explores emptiness and how a person, family, community, and species recovers from that or is reborn from it or how it is easy to lose to emptiness. That is where flashbacks of Joell can come into play. Joell got lost in that emptiness until he found Ellie. Tommie is lost now too but maybe Ellie and Tommy can find their way out together. Maybe Ellie can be reborn and from that emptiness, she can build hope by getting a vaccine or just living happily or both.

if TLOU1 was a story about joel learning to love again after being broken by sarahs death, and tlou2 is about Ellie being broken by Joels death, then TLOU3 should be about Ellie learning to love again and finding a reason to fight for. Ellie becomes Joel and it all comes full circle as they incorporate flashbacks of Joel to make Ellie finally understand Joels POV all those years ago.

Pt 3 will begin with Abby and Lev finding the fireflies who are in contact with a firefly cell from South America who has the oriiginal Patient 0 who is infected and contagious but not turned or growing fungus from their body. One of the doctors working their finds out that by combining both Ellie’s and patient 0’s dna a cure can be made but only if they are alive. This will take us to back to pt 1 where Joel saving Ellie from the surgery actually saved the worlds only hope for a cure. More to come ….

I think it’s also dumb as hell that they were ever going to kill her when they had a live person to continuously study without samples going bad over time or running out and they could have also seen if there were more people etc to try and kill an older person if they had to or even test what happens if Ellie bit another person. Her dying just always seemed like a dumb move on the surgeons part even if I understand the why. No reason it had to be done immediately at the very least especially considering seeing how her levels changed over time would have been incredibly valuable even if it was that she had to die eventually

I feel like part 3 *(early in the game like a few days after Abby reaches Catalina Island) will introduce another character who is immune, leaving us with the questions of : How many more immune people are out there? How many people know they're immune? And how many people don't know they're immune and kill themselves after getting bit? Only Abby will know this, since she's the only one that knows of Ellie existence along with Lev. After we are revealed this, we then cut to Ellie where we play as her- or something idk I just came up with this🤧🤧

Sure, your pitch is interesting and all but I don't think it really has anything to say about itself. I think the theme will be predictable based on the other two titles. First game is about learning to open up again after suffering a loss. Second game is about dealing with the loss itself before overcoming it and finding someone else to love in that world. The pattern we've seen with Joel and Ellie in the first game and Abby and Lev in the second game sets the basis for the third - Ellie's own overcoming of guilt and finding someone to be her own reason to live, thus finally understanding Joel's choice at the end of the first game and wrapping up the trilogy on a good note. You speculated about the plot itself which is incredibly uncertain but overlooked the theme which is easier to assume.

And got so much back lash when she woke up from her sleep on the last episode of the season he was taking a shower during this “nap” The last of us ll did hurt me…but it’ll be pointless pain if it was a just a thought… Wait let’s do it again…remember at the end of twilight series where the final battle was just a premonition? All those crazy deaths never happened wasting the only 15 mins of good stuff in a otherwise not so good movie

I don't think Lev magically also being immune would be believable, but I do think he could be a viable test for a vaccine (maybe it only works on the young, or only works on a certain blood type or something) and Abby would face the same sort of choice that Joel did at the end of Part 1. I think she'd make the opposite choice, let Lev be tested on and then they have a captured infected bite him (or they collect some spores) and while they wait for him to turn (or not turn) Abby is disgusted in herself that she put him at risk and that makes her understand why Joel did what he did. Then maybe the prologue could be her journey back to Jackson to make good on a promise to Ellie to get vaccines for the kids there (most importantly JJ). Which is Ellie's way of trying to show Dina that she couldn't be a good partner in life, but would die for their family.

Agreed that TLOU needs a Part 3 to bring the story to a proper conclusion. I see three essential elements. First, Restore the quest. Bring back hope and restore the foundation of Part 1. Through appropriate plot devices, someone appears in Jackson searching for an immune survivor. Perhaps hundreds of searchers are roaming the country, because perhaps an autopsy back east of an accident victim revealed a genetic brain anomaly that rendered that person immune to the fungus, but a therapy can't be crafted from a dead body. If there was one immune, there must be another somewhere, hence the search. This resurrects the quest--volunteers from Jackson must accompany the searcher to deliver a live Ellie to the genetic lab back East. This also exonerates in retrospect Joel's decision to save Ellie's life. Second, Enlist Jackson and Fireflies in the Quest. The journey offers rich opportunities for advancing the story's drama and humanity. Importantly, the quest will find it more and more difficult the nearer they get to the East, finally admitting that they will fail without serious help, which only the Fireflies can provide. This presents rich opportunities for Abby and Ellie to join, however reluctantly at first, a common cause for the greater good. Perhaps even the two slowly reconcile. Three, Complete the Quest. The final journey provides opportunities for plot twists and drama, but importantly, the story can end with hope. How far the developers want to push to a happy ending or a blind alley is their choice. I also want to add that the player should play neither as Ellie nor Abby. I suggest playing as Tommy, rising to the task originally taken by Joel and fulfilling his quest.

I wouldn’t mind playing as Tommy and seeing his downfall of hating Abby so much, his death feels inevitable but I think his arc would be completed by knowing he died trying to protect Ellie which is something Joel would have wanted. Great ideas here tho!

If she chose to scarifice herself, would it ruin Joel's character, or would it further reinforce the theme of acceptance?

I think that whole point of the ending was that Ellie actually felt more guilt towards Joel than Wrath towards Abby. She was enraged in part because the healing process with Joel had just started and she would never be able to have that pre truth reveal relationship with Joel again even though it was hanging right there in the open had he survived. I personally think that it is time to add a FEDRA character. I had a kind of far out there idea where FEDRA gets wind of Ellies existence and sends one of its last elite operatives across country to Jackson to find her. She ends up not being there because as an audience we think she would go back to Jackson but because she has become victim of a self fulfilling prophecy: "I'm afraid of ending up alone," she doesn't actually go back to Jackson and instead is wandering the US. Through interactions in town, with either Tommy or Mariah (and our man might also be a sweet talker so it doesn't have to be violent interactions) the operative learns about Abby and tracks her down to Catalina Island. Catalina has an outbreak and the operative, abby, and lev agree to go look for Ellie, knowing that she is potentially the cure for all mankind. Eventually through various leads going across the US they find Ellie is heading towards the main Fedra facility to finally turn herself in to finally follow what she originally wanted to do. Here Abby who once beefed with FEDRA real hard as a Firefly and a WLF learn that the operative is working for Fedra and have boss fight with each other. The operative wins in a brutal fight where Abby bites and claws and fights with everything she has. The operative finally meets Ellie and they agree to go to Fedra. Inside she is put into containment. The Fedra operative is also put into containment. They are both infected. The operative knows he was never bitten, but then he is told that the infection is also the same one as mutated as Ellie's. Then he remembers in his fight with Abbie he was bitten, and Abbie had bit the finger off of Ellie and it had all spread through saliva. They thought that she wasn't spreading the infection because nobody reacted violently (david, dina, abby) but in the end she had been. It just wasn't the super violent infection that turned everybody into violent infection monsters, it was just more of the same infection that Ellie had. Could work better if Abby survives instead of the operative. Because that would give Ellie another boss battle with Abby (ellie thinking abby is tracking her to finish the job), but maybe Lev dies for the EMOTIONAL IMPACT. Because this infection doesn't turn people and can nullifies the crazy infection and you CAN get it from Saliva, then there is no need to take apart either of their brains. TLOU finally ends on a sliver of hope with a group who could potentially distribute the cure but not too happy an ending because it is still FEDRA. A FEDRA operative would allow more advanced gunplay and tactics because you would be coming from an organization that still can manufacture weaponry and equipment and still had secure places to train in. You always have two characters going through approximate levels of pain with each other in the games, so I'm not sure how you could work that in unless you gave the operative some major backstory here. But that would make the game pretty massive. Through in Abby, Dina, Lev, Tommy and Jackson crowd, and then a new character and you have RPG levels of story to fill. So they more than likely don't really expand the crowd much with a NEW playable character, and instead just add minor new ones while telling the main story with the ones we already have.

🤔I imagine it will go like this: Abby and Lev traveling to Jackson to find Ellie only to discover, that she nows lives with Tommy in a quarantine zone in Dallas (under the leadership of the new antagonist) where they work as smugglers. Obviously, their first meeting results in fight and Tommy gets killed by the antagonist. Abby convinces Ellie to follow her to the fireflies, Ellie agrees on the condition that Jackson receives the cure. They escape Dallas, but while doing so they kill the child of the antagonist, making him come after them. During the journey they start to understand each other, resulting in an epic showdown against the antagonist. In the end Ellie sacrifices herself for the cure, and a grieving Abby honors her by bringing the cure to Jackson. 😞

or it's all about agency, Ellies, and that she's been denied it since the first time you see her. In a way Abbie and Ellie are the same, both denied agency by the people in their lives, until Abbie takes Ellies agency away so she can never reconcile with Joel, for that Ellie wants to kill her. Agency was probably 50% of the first game, but 100% of the second. The third one should be about Ellie learning to be a good father and catching kids when they fall but not making their decisions for them :) :)

See mines almost the same but during the journey to the butterflys Tommy dies and when Eliie and Appy arrive ( No Dina yet) Ellie kills herself for the cure. Abby brings the news of Elies desth and the cure to Jackson. Dina kills Abby blaming her for everything that happens. 20 year gap and JJ is teaching history in a normal world about the outbreak. she and Lev are at Ellie and Abby grave getting along. Dina is an older mother who eventually dies by old age.

Here's my pitch for TLOU3. Three different storylines happening for three different characters. One for Ellie, one for Abby, and even one for Ellie's mother Anna that'll be utilized as a flashback storyline connected to the present storyline. Here's how they can work. The story can begin with Anna as nurse hanging out with her military friend Marlene pre-outbreak. Then we'd see how the two survived Outbreak day right before cutting to present time with Ellie. For Ellie's story there can be a 6 to 8 year time jump after TLOU2 where we see Ellie and JJ bonding with each other. Think of them like Clementine and AJ from TWD games. Where Ellie teaches JJ how to survive and such the way people like Marlene and Joel thought Ellie to. Ellie is still living out on the farm solo and Dina only allows JJ visits with Ellie every once in a while. Due to Ellie's choice she made at the end of part 2, Ellie and Dina are in a now neutral/distant relationship. When a new threat to Jackson emerges, that's when Ellie and JJ are called for help. Abby's story can begin mid-way into the game jumping back 6 or 8 years earlier. Hours after Ellie spared Abby. Where we see Abby and Lev's boat marooned on the beach of Catalina Island. Lev is lying on the sand unconscious and Abby is crawling for her life after failed to carrying Lev up and feeling weaker from her fight with Ellie and her starvation from the Rattlers. As soon as Abby falls out cold as well, that's when a good Firefly spots their bodies and comes to their rescue. Abby jerks awake to see the friendly Firefly who rescued her and Lev. Jump Six or Eight years later, Abby is a Lieutenant or Commanding Officer in their ranks and Lev is her cadet. Eventually during their campaign, they learn their top scientist has discovered a way to manufacture the cure which in turn motivates Abby and Lev to propose they find Ellie and return to Jackson. At the risk of more bad blood with her. Anna's story can be the most interesting. It'll be about the early days of the Firefly insurgency where Anna and Marlene lead their FFs to victory. An espionage and war thriller that'll serve as flashbacks in between Ellie and Abby's stories, linked to Ellie and Abby's stories. Best of all, an origin story to Ellie's immunity. All in all, Ellie and Abby would cross paths again. This pitch may seem too bloated for one game but Naughty Dog can always do a part IV to end it all if there's too much plot for just Part III. They can make them back to back. If UC can be made into a quadrilogy, why not TLOU as well? That is all.

I think i'd like to have a joel and ellie memory again where you maybe play as him and get to see even more of them maybe him talking about the processing of healing after all of his losses and then it cuts to either immediately after ellie walks away from the farm house or a few years further into the future. i'm torn between her finding dina again or that just remaining a tragic loss in her past as she learns to let it go and move forwards kind of like how joel moved forwards? i think her moving forwards would lean more towards the journey aspect than just like this is her headed back to jackson and she encounters this stuff on the way which feels a little stale at this point. don't get me wrong i love ellie and dina but the games are kind of about getting not what you want at times but what you need paired with great loss. then yeah a game after that takes place sometime in joel's 20 years which kind of pairs well with pt 2. so then it's like pt 3 pairs well with pt 1 because it's ellie finding something new for this new person she is working on healing like how ellie was at that time the healing factor for joel. idk how much of that makes sense.

@@AaronThic You definitely gets credit for the Lev idea. The more I think about it, the more I love it! It has so much potential. Have heard the theory about Ellie being an outcast living outside of Jackson. Though I hated the idea of Tommy showing up and showing where Abby is I thought the scene where Ellie returns to an empty house is very powerful. If Dina had anything of a relationship with Ellie would diminish what was good in LOU2. You could have Ellie continually seek to get back with Dina, but that seems creepy and makes Ellie look like a stalker.

I think your pitch for abbys side of the story if fine but I disagree how you handled ellies side. You said ellie is headed to jackson which I disagree with I believe elile is so heartbroken that she wants nothing to do with people for awhile so when we cut back to her shes on a hunt for food somewhere north of jackson as in montana, canada ect. but as a player we don't know that after she gets her food we should have a slow walk back to her base for now (us as a player thinking shes going back to jackson) just for us to see shes not and is out alone with nobody left she cares about. after that she goes into a town nearby and runs into a group of people, the people see elile and try to talk to her, elile replys to them like a feral dog and she makes a threat so that they leave her alone, they do but look back at her with sorrow. I think this part for elile makes much more sense for her character than her going back to jackson because she is a hurting character that I don't see would be one to just go back home. she seems more like somebody who would want to be alone with her pain so this makes more sense to me.

If they make a third game, they should make it about a different character or characters. They can have references to Joel and Ellie in the game as side missions or Easter eggs, but a fresh new set of characters and new story developments would be perfect.
