I loved Grief is the Thing with Feathers. I’m planning on reading Lanny in September. Great plans… and I’m with you on remaining pretty promptless in September. The GarbAugust bingo card has worn me out 😊

Yay to Lanny in September! 😀Will look forward to hearing what you think of it if you get to it. Can’t wait to read Grief is the Thing with Feathers. I absolutely need a break from prompts. And trash. By the time I’ve finished my GarbAugust reading tomorrow I’ll be totally trashed out 😵💫

I completely relate to having a lot of ongoing series. And love that you’re willing to read children’s fantasy. I’d like to give The Giver a reread…since I’ve only read it as a child. Hope you’re having a fantastic Shorty September so far!

Am absolutely up for trying children’s fantasy - well, any kind of fiction aimed at kids/middle grade etc. There are some real gems out there that still have a lot to offer adult readers! Am really looking forward to The Giver, it sounds very intriguing. Having a great shorty September so far thanks, hope you are too! Thanks for watching and commenting 👍😀

There are several small press publishers who are doing wonderful things with the shorter lengths. While I can't claim to have read anywhere near all of the novella length books from these publishers, I've yet to find a bad one. The first is Luna Press' series of excellent novellas, then the not so small press PS Publishing, specifically their Absinthe Books line of novellas, and lastly, Black Shuck Books' Shadows line of short books. I've just started a very short collection of short stories in that series, by Teika Maija Smits, called Waterlore, which looks to be excellent so far.

Oh, that's great Dave, thanks for sharing those names! I'll have a good look at their stuff. I've come across Luna Press before, via their Beyond Realities collections. I'll have to check out their novellas too. I'm a fan of Comma Press, up here in Manchester - have you come across them before? They've got a great range to what they publish, and they champion authors from a really wide variety of backgrounds.
